Good to hear. I actually have the Bronco manual in hardcopy. I was only allowed to keep my man card because I used to write user manuals for the tools I designed. The mechanics never read those, either.

I was at first annoyed by this feature, but I have come to realize it is not the worst reminder in the world, especially on longer trips.

Since my Bronco is a Base model, I don't have the Lane Keeping System, and I wouldn't want to have it. I prefer to pay attention while I'm driving and not receive any help with steering and braking. (Cruise control is good, though).

So my vote for most annoying alert is the Pre-Collision Assist, which occasionally goes off either when I'm coming up quickly on someone who is turning off of the road and will be out of the way when I get there, or sometimes when there is a lane shift and somebody else is in the other lane at just the right point. I don't want the stupid distraction of the warning when I need 100% of my attention on my driving. It's also annoying when the windshield has been frosted over during the winter and it warns me that the feature won't work. Yeah, I'll have to actually pay attention. Duh.

The one other annoying feature is when it tells me that it can't find my cell phone (because I left it home). The warning that I'm about to run out of gas goes away in a few seconds, but I have to actually acknowledge the cell phone thing. Double Duh!

Having the stripped-down Big Bend (2024's base model) I also don't have lane assist, and I too am glad. I had all that stuff on my 2024 Bronco Sport, and (I'm not kidding) I found myself nodding off on long drives. In the Bronco, I've got a hand on the manual shift, natural driving noises and road feel, and don't have that problem. Maybe it's just me...

Just as folks are starting to drop-kick their smartphones in favor of a simple flip phone, perhaps it's time we back away from all the tech. Has it all proven itself to reduce accidents and save lives? Is it really convenient in the long run? Are we all comfortable that vehicle reliability and maintenance is not negatively affected, attendant with its constant intrusion?

Elon Musk has been promising self-driving cars for 10 years now. It hasn't happened - and I believe it can't with our current infrastructure. In the meantime, I don't want to be an "early adopter".

Just as folks are starting to drop-kick their smartphones in favor of a simple flip phone, perhaps it's time we back away from all the tech.

I will be keeping me smart phone, but one of the best things I have done was ditch my smart watch for a regular automatic watch.
Stress levels dropped so much without constant alerts on my wrist.

Indeed the most annoying “feature.” I got a steering wheel cover. Works like a charm.

My experience - I thought it had to do with hands on the wheels I do not think there are any pressure sensors or that the wheel knows you are gripping it. What I noted is it happens after a straight stretch of road, Bronco dead center in lane and holding (well aligned). Thus, it is a slight "jiggle" of the wheel. I agree it is annoying -- I had it out west last year on long straight Texas and New Mexico roads. Tracking right down the middle of the road and one hand on the wheel. It would alert me every 3-5 minutes. I turned it off. HOWEVER, I wanted to have it on for safety -- the perfect environment for using the lane assist.

No way to know, but I feel a software update changed this -- I never had an issue until I had the Bronco 2 years or so. Now it is far more frequent.

It is unrelated to lane keep assist or steering wheel pressure sensors. It happens when there hasn't been any actual steering input detected after X amount of time. If you are on a straight road, the Bronco which tracks straight and doesn't need corrections constantly like some vehicles, will often trigger the alert.

My wife figured out how to turn that off. My phone was connected to AndroidAuto and every group text I was part of kept screaming that chime through the speakers. It was awful. If I remember correctly it was both settings in the vehicle and in the phone to finally turn that off.

I wish there was a "turn off all notifications on all devices and screens everywhere" option (that doesn't involve taking a hammer to everything electronic). No notification has ever helped me, ever. All it does is distract me from whatever thought process I had going. Honestly, that's by design.

I wouldn't say 'unrelated' but this is pretty much it - it wants to see SOME kind of input. Riding in a straight line on a good road, you shouldn't need to give any input.

That said, ours has lane keeping but not adaptive cruise, and will only give the warning if you let it wander too much...but then, our roads aren't great up here in the rural areas. That said it seems to me the area it lets you 'wander' in is far too small before it starts to push back - wife's expedition lets it wander significantly more, and they're both '24s.

The collision assist blocked is by far the most annoying in the winter. Not only does it come on, sometimes multiple times a drive, but it also puts a notification in the ford app so when your wife sees a collision notification she calls in a panic to make sure you’re ok.

My Bronco doesn't have that functionality. On the other hand, today I drove with two people in the back seat of my 2-door, and after they exited the vehicle, the dash was warning me of rear occupants without seatbelts fastened. And it did that for several minutes with no one in back. I'll have to play around in Forscan to turn off that alert.

This functionality allows your teen/pre-teen to keep annoying you long after you've dropped them off at school/practice/etc...

You should be able to hit the OK button to make it go away. Still looking for that same button on my snarky teen!

I prefer the old-fashioned, analog anti-drowsy driver alert the state installed. You know, the corrugated strip at the edge of the breakdown lane, "thumpa-thumpa-thumpa-thumpa-thumpa...."

I just got back from an 8-hour round trip from SE Michigan to Northern Michigan and the "Keep Your Hands on the Wheel" went off constantly. It really did start getting annoying. I like the LKA, so I don't want to turn it off completely. I think I just have to turn down the sensitivity.
