Packed up a cooler full of food, packed the tent and sleeping bags, grabbed a bottle of Lagavulin several cigars and loaded up the dog. Heading up to Drummond Island for a week of wheelin and camping, and some fishing. Hoping to get lost and not see another human being for several days.

My Badlands came with a somewhat respectable compliment of skids but there were a few areas left unprotected that I thought needed to be.

Today I completed the last of my frame mounted rock rails and skid plate installs..

The RC version comes with lighting included. One set of instructions (front or rear can't remember)

says they can be left on one says the must be removed??

Finally resolved the rear defrost cable issue. Ford Dealership ordered replacement glass for the back hatch. Will need to re-order some new cap covers.

Showed Gordon a little love today and upgraded the console lid to the stitched version. One of the easiest installs I have done. It took longer to fish the lock out of the old lid thatn it took to install the new one.

Took my wife and daughter out to Uwharrie for a bit this afternoon. Probably overshot my experience level and went down Dutch John (6/10 on OnX). Thankfully there were no issues with obstacles and no need to use 5he self recovery gear I dont have or be pulled/winched out by people I didn't go with. Only real concern were a couple of big mud slurry pits leading into rutted-out steep, slick, muddy climbs. Both pits had folks with built rigs, with at least 35s, get high centered throughout the last couple of weeks. Plus one 4xe Jeep took the wrong line going down one and ended up rolling into the drink and totalling his rig last week. FB Video Link) I'm currently getting my butt chewed on Facebook for admitting to taking an unofficial, illegal, no-good, very bad bypass. Treading extremely lightly on a bypass seemed the better option to ruining my Bronco and getting stuck in some deep mud without a way to get out.

That looks positively horrible. Reminds me of when my Newfoundland gets the runs. Making me happy I live in the Southwest right now.

I can only think about the hours of work it would take to try to clean that crap off (assuming you actually got your rig through it).
