Hi! I know this is a bit off-topic, but I'm asking here because other people have gone to Moab in this group. We're doing the Bronco Off Rodeo in Moab early September as part of our 3500 mile trip from illinois. Our dog is gonna be with us the whole time, but he can't be with us during the off rodeo - which is basically from 7 AM to 6 PM (local travel time). He can hold it, but not that long :) I've looked into Rover (only got vague responses from 1/4), the vet clinic (limited hrs) and there's a few "on google". Anyone have some recommendations for Moab doggy day care's?

Thanks - Gonk

We ended up cancelling our NH Off Rodeo because of this. Kinda silly our 7lb Yorkie couldn't ride along but I get it. Hope you figure something out.

1. Moab National Bark

2. Moab Veterinary Clinic

  • What they offer: Daycare and boarding services, starting at around $35/day YelpRover.com.
  • Pros: On-site vet—great if your dog needs medications or sudden care.
  • Cons: Limited business hours; confirm weekend and holiday coverage.
3. Rover Sitters (Aubrey A. & Kasey S.)

  • Aubrey A.
    • Home-based, fenced grassy yard.
    • Great reviews: “dogs loved meeting her pups… adorable photos/videos sent” Rover.com.
    • Flexible drop-offs/pick-ups, ideal for your 7 AM–6 PM timeframe.
  • Kasey S.
    • Experienced, flexible, sends updates: “sent pictures while we were out hiking in Arches” Rover.comRover.com+1Rover.com+1.
    • Trusted in the area and responsive.

✅ Next Steps

  1. Contact and reserve ASAP — early September is still a popular travel time.
  2. Let them know your schedule (7 AM–6 PM), and ask about drop-off logistics.
  3. Check vaccination requirements (rabies, etc.)—Moab enforces strict pet laws
  4. Request trial or meet-and-greet to ensure comfort for both your dog and provider.
I hope this helps!

Thanks. 1&2 don’t pan out. Blogs, in CO, vet clinic has limited hours, yelprover is the business side of rover. I’ll doublecheck those 2 on rover, but I think I already did.

I don't see what a dog would get out of that rodeo experience anyway, why not leave the dog at home and have a neighbor look in on it, or pay a neighbor kid to walk the dog? I've done that for neighbors.

Good points but if we ride so does the dog.

Yup. He’s going on the full 3500mi trip. That is the only day we’re trying to figure out.

when we plan a vacation we send the mutt to the local canine trainer where they also board the pooch in house... it's an intense 1 or 2 week training for k-9s... Then when we return scooby-doos manners have improved and I feel good knowing the $$$ was well spent, and also can TOTALLY relax my mind on the vacation about any doggie issues

My friend used to sneak his Boston Terrier in a carry all that was made specifically to look like a regular bag but had mesh and airholes and was easy to clean inside. So we'd go snowboarding or whatever and he'd always come along. He just trained him that when he was in the bag, no barking! For such a stubborn dog, he did that pretty good.

We live in Moab. How big is the dog? What day is the Rodeo? We might be able to watch the dog for the day to help out.
