Waiting for people to find out that tuned engines (including Procal Tunes) completely voids the Ford Extended Service plan entirely.

Totally different PCM with no possible way to unlock as of now. Probably be a long time before (or if) it ever happens.

The Procal Tune is covered under the Ford Performance warranty when installed by certified technician. It adds a record in your factory warranty informing the dealership to call the Ford Performance Warranty division when you are trying to get warranty repairs.

But it also fully voids Ford Extended Service Plans. It's considered a major engine modification and ESPs shouldn't be sold on vehicles with the calibration.

Got it, I didn't realize initially that you were referring to the ESP as opposed to the standard warranty. I guess I don't have to worry about whether to purchase an ESP now since that decision has already been made for me! Thanks for the information.

From all the material that I have read on this issue, my understanding is that the Ford Performance ProCal tune is covered under the factory warranty as long as it is installed either by Ford or a certified technician.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe the ProCal tune reduces the factory powertrain warranty to from 5 yr/60k to 3 yr/36 when installed by a dealer or certified tech. Voided warranty if installed on your own.

Yes. The ProCal tune warranty is 3yr/36k, reducing the powertrain warranty from 5yr/60k to match that of the bumper-to-bumper. I very rarely see this mentioned.

Also the 3/36 warranty for the procal is covered under a separate warranty through Ford Performance, not Ford.

Voids ESP, first I have heard about this where did you read this?

Voids ESP, first I have heard about this where did you read this?

Four different sources:
1. My dealer wouldn’t install the tune because I have ESP and he said it voids the warranty.
2. I called Ford CRC and they confirmed ESP is voided if the tune installed.
3. CRC sent me to warranty claims for verification. The warranty claims rep told me not to install the tune because it voides the warranty.
4. I called the CRC the next day to discuss with another representative and they said the ESP is voided with this tune.
