They aren't pushed on people any more than a carton of almond milk is pushing people away from dairy. It's just an alternative option that exists today.
I'm not sure how you can say they aren't pushed on people when the federal government has said to auto manufacturers that they need to meet X mpg standards by Y date and the only way to get there is by removing ICE's and switching to electric.

That seems a bit pushy to me.

Base Bronco Sas 2 door with 5.0. For 40K. I'm in will reserve one now. Will never happen. If they do ever put in a V8 in any Bronco it will be 120 or more K. Will never even be on my radar- can't afford it and would not pay it even if I could...........

Ah, I thought you were talking about the present, where hybrid Honda CR-Vs are sold next to ICE Honda CR-Vs, and we're on a forum where Broncos get 20 mpg on a good day and the only battery aboard is used to start the ICE engine.

But yes, in the year 2032 CAFE standards briefly tried to incentivize/mandate 67% electric vehicles. That's no longer the case, of course.

Your daughter should be pleased to know that the weight difference is negligible, Honda dealers are fully capable of fixing them and have done so for years, and the fuel economy is much better than just a few MPG. As a bonus, she'll get less wear and tear on the engine and brakes.
I didnt know almond milk had a $7,500 subsidy.

You bring up subsidy... made me wonder if people understood that the epa taxes every auto manufacturer on each ice engine they produce. Often this means making a full electric can offset this punitive tax.
The larger displacement engines have a higher tax. I state this to point out the government is taxing them out of existence. Getting rid of the subsidy is only half of the issue. Some people support taxing them away based on the gasses combustion produces. I am more of the mind of letting the market decide what product is better. I also do not care for strip mining. Check out a lithium mine. Then consider how much natural gas we will have to burn to charge all the lithium ion batteries.
Of course we should replace anything we can to preserve air and water cleanliness. I don't feel the current path has been throughly considered.

I get it man, and it's ok that you want a hybrid, or EV for that matter. I'm all about freedom within reason, so I just think Ford can offer both, or all if they feel it's profitable and what customers would buy.

I didn't buy a Bronco looking for MPG. This isn't a grocery getter or even road tripping SUV. There are literally almost 100 other options for that crap. Bronco is an off-roader, that's what it is and that's what I bought it for, not to save on gas.

Issue is, many of you "general publics" are in the wrong vehicle for your lives, so you should get, not what you think makes you look cool, but what you need. I have this thing to wheel, not for storage, or overloading, or mall hopping, whatever. Bronco is an adventure vehicle and is not practical on purpose. The general public kill every fun vehicle. The Defender and all Range Rovers are now soft, even the 4 Runner is now a mess on top of already being boring as hell.

Some of us aren't as boring as many of you seem to be.

Stop trying to make my truck fit your lifestyles when you have other options better for that. Bronco is best for MY lifestyle which is off-road driving and having fun off pavement. Yes, a V8 gives me more fun while doing what I do and I'll take the mpg hit, because I don't care. I have another vehicle for getting 28mpg.

I'm not stuck in here with y'all. Y'all are in here with me! You're free to drive a different vehicle if the Bronco does't fit your world view.

WHOA WHOA WHOA!!! we need them to buy for two reasons!!!!

1st: to keep the model selling enough units they continue the model. So, the market gets flooded and all the people who build it are happy, and they build a plant in the southeast where i will want to change to that auto plant.

2nd: So, there are plenty of pristine mall crawlers for when I have beaten this horse to death and need to replace it before I drop it at the glue factory. (If you wheel enough, it will fall apart).

That being said I think a small v8 on this 10 speed tranny would actually have the same or better fuel milage (naturally aspirated of course). 4.8L would be great! (289) Oh or they could revamp a 221ci (3.6) which eventually became the 351 5.8L.

Exactly. We're at a point in life where my wife isnt driving very much now (the Bronco is hers) and we're looking at retiring in about 7 years. She wanted a fun beach car. Her previous car was an Acura MDX. I drive a sports car.

We've worked damn hard to get where we are. Neither car is a commuter car. We dont care about gas mileage.

I love V8s, but I kind of get why they went with the Ecoboosts (I am bummed no 3.5 in the BRaptor). That being said, a lot of my fun in the BRaptor is 2WD sport mode on dirt roads with T/C off and it spins the tires easily on those surfaces, especially after the FP tune. I like the higher torque from the turbo motors over an N/A V8. I might’ve missed it, but I haven‘t seen it mentioned that the Ecoboosts probably provide better/more consistent power at higher altitudes. I assume Ford does it like most manufacturers where the ECU can adjust boost to maintain advertised power where N/A motors can’t. But, I do get it, a supercharged 5.0 in a Bronco would be pretty bad ass. I’m more bummed that you can’t get a manual BRaptor.
Buy a 1st gen Bronco and drop a 5.0 Coyote drivetrain in there. It'll cost far less than whatever Ford would charge to put a Coyote in a 6th Gen, guaranteed.

Coyote won't fit unless modified. I believe to the frame. Have you priced a decent first generation?

Tk's garage says the new bill defangs CAFE, that you don't get fined for not meeting the required mileage, hence the word that MOPAR/SRT is back.

I want a V8 swap for my girl, now!

$30k-$40k for what I would consider a solid starting point, survivor or older resto candidate. Restored Gen1s get up into $70-$90k territory along with the "UH KNO WUT AW GAWT" reverse-mortgage fudds with rusted ones in barns. Mild frame modifications are ok, the F100 guys do it too.
I have some connections to "finders" who scout around for survivor vehicles (zero rust, solid body/frame, don't give a rip about drivetrain originality since I'll tear it out anyway).

If Ford released a 5.0 model Bronco, you know it'd be in the $115k+ territory because they'd trimflate it above the Raptor.
