Hey guys. I just started messing with my trail turn assist. There is a word sound that comes from the steer tires. Is this normal? Only happens with trail turn assist on and when turning.

I snapped an axle the third time I used mine. It was replaced under warranty, just saying though... how bad do you need turn brakes?

Yes it's normal, it's the brakes being applied to the inside rear turning tire, to force the tighter turn.

I've heard horror stories of what it does to the rear axle.

If you must use it, be sure it's only in super loose dirt, sand, snow, things like that... From my understanding. I'm not a certified tech, but I'm sure one will quickly drop by to let us know 👍

It definitely did not sound good when I was turning. Your saying the front brakes are being applied as well as the inside rear tire of the turn?

It’s noisy. Use only on very loose ground. Think of shuffling your feet on pavement or a loose gravel/sand road. Which one would allow a tire to slide easily?

Crazy to think anyone would attempt to use this feature on pavement.

Trail turn assist makes a number of odd noises I hadn’t heard before. As others have said, unless you like tempting fate, use it only on sand, snow, etc. Never on hard surfaces. Although it’s a cool feature and has it’s place, I don’t use it much.

I haven't messed with ours, either on the Bronco or the Tremor. But I would suggest that unless you're on VERY loose ground, I would avoid using it...and definitely don't have the rear axle locked.

Only use it in the snow or a soft surface....or you will damage your bronco

What's funny is when I used it on very soft surface the other tires got traction and drug the locked tire. It barley outdid a turn without it. (we drove back over the path) It was mud though.

I also have a Tremor and a Bronco, and have used trail turn assist on both. Only on loose dirt and off-road. It works great on both. The key to success is to keep the turn in and keep the throttle in. It disengages when you flatten the turn or come off the skinny peddle. Don't be afraid to use it in the Bronco or the Tremor.
