Hello all,

I have been around for a while, as my wife currently has a 23 Wildtrak. She has been saying for a while now that she wants to go to a larger vehicle again and will probably go to a Navigator.

I own a 2022 F150 Raptor with a 18 GT350 in the garage. I've wanted a Bronco Raptor since they've come out, but the prices were ludacris. As i've seen countless threads, the price drops have helped a ton and i've come across a heck of a price on one and the dealership has offered me a good number for my gt350.

Wondering what the community's thoughts are here. Is this a stupid trade? I have no interest in my wife's wildtrak as I want the Raptor, so that one is going to go away regardless when she trades for something else.

To me, I love the aesthetics, the stance, and I've had Raptors since the Gen 1 raptor. It would just be a complimenting Raptor when I don't want a bed.

I work from home, so I only get about 800 miles a year on the GT350 waiting for those nice days and knowing where i'm going to avoid bottoming out. Just very limiting. The Raptors would have the same availability all year long. Just...are they different enough to enjoy both?

Thank you for your time.

How about keep the Shelby and get rid of the F150 Raptor to get a Bronco Raptor?

You have to figure this one out man. Go sit in the GT350. Ask yourself will you miss it? In 10years are you going to kick yourself for getting rid of it? The Raptor is new and exciting. Will that feeling last for you?

The infreqency that I sit in it is part of the problem haha.

10 yrs, I probably won't even notice as I hold onto cars for 6 yrs max. I refresh the garage entirely every 6-8 yrs.

You want to know the car I regret getting rid of? When I traded my Gen 1 Raptor for my Gen 3, instead of trading the GT350 for it and keeping my Gen 1. lol

As someone that WFH, there is always one or more vehicles that sits around that doesn't get driven much. If you have both a F150R and Braptor, its going to be the same issue, one is going to sit unused. I have two mustangs, use to have three no way I get rid of one just because its sitting more especially if it gets to me having none. My 17 mustang has 29k on it, my 23 braptor is approaching 20k after 2 1/2 years.

Work from home is my exact issue as well. It has cut my mileage substantially.

I'd keep the Shelby. You will miss it, the high revving engine, the sound, acceleration rush, rowing the gears, assuming it is a manual. I still miss my 2018 Mustang base GT and it is no where near a Shelby.

I'd say keep the Shelby. Raptors are cool, but you already have a big auto in the F150 Raptor.

Also, not that I have anything against the rapper, but it's ludicrous.

I'm in a similar, but not quite the same situation.

I have a 2012 Lingenfelter modified CTS-V Coupe (630hp) and a 2016 Stage 3 Phase 2 Roush Mustang convertible (727hp).

Prior to purchasing my 2024 WildTrak, my daily driver was my late wife's 2012 BMW X5 (I leased a car prior to her passing). Living in Michigan, the Cadillac and Mustang get stored in November and don't come out until April at the earliest, and even then, given the unpredictability of early spring in Michigan, don't get driven on any consistent basis until about now through late fall. They only come out on nice days. The BMW was driven through the winter, rainy days or if I went camping or on a road trip since the other two cars can't carry much.

Contrary to their reputation, the BMW was pretty reliable vehicle, much more reliable than an F150 my son drove for over 8 years, but the BMW had over 110K miles, and I knew that I was one major repair away where it would cost me more than what it was worth.

When I decided on a Bronco, I wanted four doors since the other two cars are essentially two passenger vehicles (the backseats are worthless for carrying passengers). I considered the Raptor, but even with the discounts, it was more than I wanted to spend. I took an early retirement from the corporate world a few years ago and am working a less stressful semi-retirement job now. I've gotten used to having no debt aside from the low interest mortgage on my house that will be paid off in the next several years.

Now, I did have the option of getting rid of one of my other two cars which have been paid off a long time ago. I don't ever see me getting rid of the Cadillac. It is a relatively rare car now and quite honestly, I love it. Getting rid of the Roush was a possibility, but I chose not to.

As for mileage, I put about 2K miles a year on both the CTS-V and the Mustang. The BMW would average about 8K miles a year.

Admittedly, the WildTrak isn't a Braptor, but looking at what I have now, I appreciate each vehicle for what it is. Even the two sports cars have different personalities.

I often joke that the Cadillac is going fast in a suit, it's a bit more refined. The Roush is a bit more raw and is like going fast with a mullet and muscle shirt, not to mention it's a full convertible where I don't need to manually remove and store a top. Deciding what to drive just depends on the mood I'm in.

Now the Bronco has been a bit of a surprise for me. I was expecting to make more compromises on ride, handling and performance compared to the BMW. Yes, they are two different vehicles, but the Bronco has been much more refined than what I was expecting relatively speaking.

So, with that long-winded back story, I'm not sure I would consider the Bronco replacing my Mustang. Even if I had gotten the BRaptor. They are just two different vehicles.

Now if you don't have the luxury, or desire to own both, I could see you making the switch. Especially given that the GT350 is a hardtop and you would have the option year-round usage and topless driving with the Braptor, but again, like I said before, I don't think they are comparable vehicles.

Not sure I helped you with your decision, just providing some insight.

I'd keep the GT350. Even though you say you don't drive it much, I got to imagine when you do making the VooDoo scream puts a smile on your face. I haven't had a Mustang since 2011 and I still miss it.
