Dear friends,

I would like to share my experience with the product XBB - OBD Dongle & PowerUnit, Dongle & PowerUnit - relay connection for extra lights. On forums, I came across posts on this topic where it wasn't clearly confirmed whether it works with a Ford Bronco. I also contacted the manufacturer, who informed me that they don't have the possibility to test this product directly on a Ford Bronco vehicle, as they don't have one available, so they cannot guarantee functionality for this particular model. However, in the configuration or description on the manufacturer's website, I found that XBB works, among other Ford vehicles, with the Ford Explorer 2025+.

My wife drives a Ford Explorer (6th generation, U625), so I wanted to make her happy and ordered this product along with an LED light bar specifically for her vehicle. I placed the order on the e-shop valostore.com, and it arrived within a few days. I downloaded the application, which is intuitively explained in the manual.
The installation on the Ford Explorer was completely successful on the first attempt—greeting to the manufacturer.

Of course, I was curious about my Ford Bronco, so I spent several hours trying to get the product working on the Bronco, but unfortunately, I was unsuccessful. In the list of compatible vehicles available in the XBB application, many Ford models are listed, but the Ford Bronco is not among them. I tried to run the product on the Bronco with configurations for Ford F150 (13th and 14th generations), Ford Edge (2nd generation), Ranger, Focus, and even Mustang Mach E.
The application does detect the Dongle and individual systems (high beams, low beams, turn signals, daytime running lights, etc.), but it apparently doesn't receive signals from the OBD. I simply couldn't get the XBB to work on the Ford Bronco.

I don't rule out that the manufacturer may add the Bronco to the list of compatible vehicles in the future, but the current version as of April 2025 is not compatible with the Ford Bronco 2024, 2.7L. Additionally, I don't rule out that older Bronco models or perhaps the specification with a 4-cylinder engine could work. However, I cannot confirm this.

Good luck to everyone :)

Martin

Hi, thanks for replying to my post on XBB. Can I ask which profile in the XBB app works with the Bronco? Do you have LED lights on your Bronco? I'm curious because XBB works perfectly with the Ford Explorer. Thanks for your answer, enjoy your day! Martin"

I've seen a few of these out there but everybody always complains that they stop working here/there. So I opted not to throw one on our truck.

A year ago, I installed it on my wife’s Ford Explorer Plug‑in Hybrid 3.0 V6 EcoBoost MY2022. It works absolutely without any problems , I can only recommend it. I’m glad they’ve now updated it for the Bronco as well. I think I’ll add it to my own car too.

I’m almost 2 years running this with no problems. Considering getting additional relays to control other lights.
