Picked one up and took it to my bodyshop to install, they are suggesting placing the rear cam next to the license plate?

I would think that it needs to be centered.. having trouble coming up with a better location, i'm sure this bridge has been crossed before but wanted to check with the community!

Much love

I bought this from Crutchfield: Brandmotion camera mount

Other than it being $99 and I had to paint it black (personal preference) it is perfect. I just wasn't sure about the "universal" ones fitting the bolts of the spare carrier, since I imagine they are made for jeeps.

It puts the camera right between the spokes of my spare tire and it is very centered in terms of the image. Only downside is it gathers water pretty bad in rain, but I am trying to see if a rain-x or other hydrophobic product will fix that.

I thought someone just mounted it underneath the existing backup camera with zipties and tape. Not sure though...I like the Crutchfield bracket

Inside the spare tire will be better and centered. As far as brackets go, you can fabricate one and bolt it to the spare tire holder. If you have a hard top, you can mounted inside with some good 3m double sided tape.

So I have a black diamond with the all black steelies, I fought over a location for this thing I had it on top of the third brake light but the wobble it was trash. Then I watched an install on YouTube where a guy used a ditch light bracket meant for like roll bars and cubes and mounted it on the center post. I went a bit further drilling out a hole in the spare tire mount but it seems to work great there. Just the double sided tape it comes with i have taken it off a couple of times to move the spare around but I think it works well. Original back up camera has a slight framing effect now with this bracket but overall its sturdy and doesnt move or shake now.
