Great to see folks get their tops. Has anyone ordered and received a 2 door top yet?

don’t think anyone has got the 2 door yet for normal consumer orders, but I can be wrong. I was batch 2 for orders and at that time only 4 door tops were available. My batch 2 was ready for installation/ship mid-Feb but I didn’t have time to head to Texas until just this last week. My guess and only a guess is that the first 2-doors shipped may be in batch 4 or 5. But even then I’m not sure how many 2-doors have actually been ordered. Again just a guess.

Please make some low profile front and middle top sections that securely fasten to the bronco and don’t need the rear section to be installed. Or, conversely, develop a bracket that bolts on top of the roll cage that allows the factory front and middle sections to fully attach to the bronco, absent the rear.

Thx

I’m not quite sure I understand the request here 🤔

oh you want an entirely different product just designed to cover the seated portion of the vehicle and not the rest? With their slant back you can just remove the 3 rear windows and achieve almost the same thing without the goofy look of the people who have OEM tops and remove the back but leave the front 3 pieces in place.

I think you might be in the wrong thread as this is not an OEM top and the design is no way similar? What you mentioned will never work with the Armadillo modular design and the semi-permanent shell.

I gave him the armadillo alternative in my reply 😂

Man you guys are not thinking outside the box. I’m sure armadillo is not going to limit their product line to what they currently sell. I’m suggesting they look at some other stuff also. They do, after all, have the capability and facilities to make bronco tops. Just an idea for additional tops that people might want.

Sure but they clearly aren’t trying to make a copycat OEM design with slight modifications like you’re asking. You can achieve virtually the same thing with one of their products already.

I ordered a 2 door top on Jan. 27. Was notified two weeks ago that metal went into laser cutting....so it's in production. Should be here in Oregon, May-June.

So they sell just the two front or passenger sections and those can be used without the cargo section?

I said virtually the same not exactly. I can take my back 3 windows entirely and have the open feel with the cabin covered. Yes it’s different because they you need the entire top. This sounds like something you should email them if you are genuinely interested instead of posting in this thread. They’re far more likely to reply that way. Personally I think it looks far better doing what I’m talking about that the odd look you get doing that with OEM, maybe there’s a better way to fabricate something without looking so weird.

noise wise in that extremely windy section on the 10 between Fort Stockton and Junction
Soft Top: 98.6 -104.4 decibels
Armadillo : 96.8 - 98.2 decibels
Also you likely drove with the wind going East with the soft top; driving into that headwind and still peak-quieter with the hardtop is impressive.

So to work with the @Mountains2Metal Attic Tray pin arms/brackets that mount to the rollbar, Sam suggested using the AD pocket molle’s for the BRaptor that have a cutout for the brace. Theirs do add quite a bit more storage than the cheapies I got off Amazon, and waaaay lighter since these are aluminum. We determined it would still need some trimming, but less than the standard Bronco ones, so wanted to post the mod…

I started on the driver’s side, trying to make minimal cuts. I used a jigsaw, but whatever works for you!

However there still wasn’t enough room to clear the M2M brackets… So let’s cut some more…

I cleaned up the edges with a file and Dremel. I used some self etching primer and Krylon Fusion Textured Satin Black to touch-up. It matches the powder coat pretty well.

Sam and Fabian asked me to share pics of the cuts and how I made them work, so I’ll be sharing with them as well.

Sam and Fabian asked me to share pics of the cuts and how I made them work. So these should be popping up on my/their social media as well.
Also note, it seems like the top/back edge of the molle won’t fit against oversized aftermarket 6.5” speaker pods. So I started trimming the drivers side… Don’t do this, it’s not needed. The edge will slide right inside between the speaker pod and rollbar without issue… No trimming was done on the passenger side and it fit fine. It’s tucked up on the inside of the speaker so you can’t tell I trimmed any on the driver’s side
