4-Door Badlands time for 35s

Now that I have worn out the stock BGFs on my Badlands, I am ready to move from 33s to 35s. I am considering a 1" or 2" puck lift and going with Baja Boss ATs. Is anyone running this setup on a 4-door Badlands?

Am I wrong for not changing out shocks and Upper Control Arms? I am not interested in going bigger than 35s now, so I thought factory shocks were okay.

I have a 2024, 4 door Badlands Non SAS. I added a Zone 1" level kit and installed Method +35 offset wheels with 35" x 11.5" Falken Wildpeaks. I did have to remove the crash bars to make them fit. Did some moderate off roading with a lot of articulation and zero rubbing. I'm pretty sure that the 35's would have worked without the level kit, but the crash bars have to be removed. Ford removes them from all of their SAS Broncos, so I don't see it as a big deal. I am currently looking at a 2" to 2 1/2" coil over lift to gain a little more frame and front skid plate clearance. From what I've read and videos I've watched, anything under a 2 1/2" lift will not need new UCA's.

I have considered getting the tires before I leave for Paladora Canyon in two weeks. I don’t want to install the lift and turn around and drive across Texas and then off road without road testing a newly installed lift. Just not sure how the Badlands on 35 will flex and rub on moderate plus trails. Thinking I will stick with worn 33s for now. But it is hard to keep thinking about 35s. LOL

Aren't the Badlands stock tires 34" (really 33.halfish...)? The stock Sas are 34.4. I've got 34.8's on my BL Sas, no lift or rubbing. I know there's a thing with the bump stop on non-Sas being shorter (because of the bigger tire on the Sas).

I had thought it was possible to go 35 on non-Sas BL but that whole bump stop thing is the only thing I'd wonder about; you might rub a little in the wheel well at full stuff. In that case, I would think you could possibly do a leveling kit. Or swap out the bump stops.

You could do a 1.5" body lift. I have a 3" on my squatched badland I run 37s on stock backspace fine. I would not go over a 2" body lift unless you are prepared to do minor tweaks to wiring and brake lines in front. This will allow you to run stock suspension/stock driveline until you are ready to look at other things.

Do you know if with the +55 rims, the crash bars and/or mounts would be in the way? Maybe a pizza cutter would work better without a lower offset.

I have 35" Nitto Recons on my 23 non-Sas Badlands. I swapped the shocks to Bilstein 5100's and have had zero issues off road.

Do you know if with the +55 rims, the crash bars and/or mounts would be in the way? Maybe a pizza cutter would work better without a lower offset.

I'm running a 12" wide swamper TSL2 on a "stock size" rock monster wheel. I know the crash mounts on mine are fine. I think you'd need to remove the bars. The extra 25mm of inset could be a problem with a 35 as the tire width comes into play.
Maybe a pizza cutter that measures at a true 34...

I wasn't sure if the non-Sas BL had crash bars. I suspect the mounts are ok except a wider tire on the higher offset rim might get close to the mount and/or sway bar. A thinner tire would of course help, but the OP could also get some slim hub spacers instead of replacing the rims (if they don't want to).

On the search thing, I'd go straight to your search engine of choice and do "bronco6g non-sas badlands 35 tires" or whatever. The search here sucks, but prepending bronco6g in the search using a real engine works pretty well.

I have a set of wild track take offs on my badlands non Sasquatch. Other than modifying the crash bars they fit fine and do not rub, even off road.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned is that when you go up to a taller tire, your speedometer and mileage will be off until you get it updated. It'll be a few miles off, I think showing you're going faster? If you're about to take a long trip, just FYI.

Some people never update it. When I went up to truer 35's, my two miles over came up even; now, when it say's 45 speed signs also say 45 and not 43, like they used to. I know I can update with my ProCal; maybe also FORScan.

Hey @CoolContractor what coilovers you considering? I’m in the same boat. Looking to upgrade my 4dr Badlands to 35s once my KO2s are done. At 38k miles and they are still in fairly good shape but chewed up from trails.

adding new wheels certainly increases the expense too. Oh well.
