Our '23 badlands is nearing time to start planning for a new set of tires.

I've got mixed emotions with the nitto Ridge grapplers I have on my 14 f150, but that's a truck vs an suv.

I noticed rain was kind of a weak point with them, but otherwise I was quite happy. Nearly 45k issue free miles with about 5k of those towing a ~6k pound trailer. So, wear wasn't an issue.

My concern is a possible MPG drop. When I got my truck, it had a nearly dead set of hankooks on it, that didn't allow for the best benchmark.

I'm not opposed to going back with the KO2's , but at over $300/tire that kind of hurts.

New Terra Grappler G3 is getting a lot of good reviews. Good wet traction and snow plus lighter than the ridge grapplers.

I replaced my base tires with them a week after picking it up. They're pretty great for sand, mud, gravel, dirt, pavement, sharp rock. They are ok in the snow and as you mentioned already they are terrible in the rain. I live in Southern California where we don't get rain most of the year so they're ok for me. If I lived somewhere rainy or that gets snow I would definitely get other tires.

If you're worried about mileage, keep a lighter tire and air up to 38/39psi. I've talked to several people that like them a lot, so if you like 'em on your truck, you'd probably like them on your Bronco.

Given OP is in Iowa, unless they frequently travel west for wheeling, I'd definitely sale a Terra Grappler G3 is a better tire for their use case than a Ridge Grappler if they want to stick with Nitto.

I've owned other Nitto tires (Trail Grappler and an Exo Grapplier on my JKU and a Terra Grappler G2 on my 4Runner), but always heard heard that Ridges were prone to chunking in sharper rocks and not very good in rain or snow.

One of the other newer tires on the market like the Mickey Thompson Baja AT may be a good option also.

I've not had issues in the snow. The rain has been the only issues. Even with the rain, it was a heavy downpour.

I'm considering going back with the BFG's from what I'm reading.

I haven't payed close attention on availability yet with regards to different sizes (which I know is limited now), but the KO3 is definitely a step forward from the KO2.

To me the KO2 is decent at a lot, but doesn't really excel at anything. I know I will try to find something else to run on my Raptor once the stock tires are run through. Subtle tweaks to tread compounds and design have definitely moved the tire industry forward in the last ~10 years and the KO2 dates to 2014 now.
