Driver's Side Seatbelt Not Retracting

Weak tensioner is my issue. slow to retract and I have to baby it to get it to retract all the way or I end up slamming the door on it
First dealership (Star Ford Glendale) said no to repairing it. It's at Galpin at the moment getting the 2.3l Brake vacuum hose TSB taken care of along with the windshield recall.
I've asked that this be looked at.
Waiting to see if they will take care of it. It only has 8k miles on it

Same, same. I have 3 seat belts not retracting. Gonna bug my dealer.

I have had no luck convincing them to replace them under warranty.. its obvious there is an issue as the passenger side works fine and you can see the difference.

My 2 door belts don’t retract in front. They kinda flop around and I have to coax them back in. Very annoying

My seatbelt is dangerous at this point. My selling dealer ordered a replacement on warranty a few months ago. Unfortunately, I relocated before the part was delivered. The dealer in my new town says they cannot even 'diagnose' the issue until 10/9 at which point, then they can order the replacement part. The performance of the tensioner has degraded so much now that even if I lean forward to change the volume or temp, it will not retract. I have to manually spool it back in every time I get out. It's a huge trip hazard for anyone trying to get out of the back seat too.

I asked if they could 'diagnose' at an oil change - 'no'.

I asked if they could contact the old dealership for the diagnosis - 'no'.

I asked if they could proactively order the parts because I need this fixed regardless if it's warranty or out of pocket -'no'.

I asked what happens if I die in a wreck between now and Oct 9, when they can diagnose it or heaven knows when they can actually fix it? No reasonable answer was given.

What are my options at this point? I suppose I could take solace in the fact that my kids will own FoMoCO upon my untimely death but I'd much prefer the alternative.

Easy fix as it's due to dirt/dust buildup on the belt and hanger. Run a feeler gauge thru the hanger both above and below the belt - use a thicker size one that is snug. Then clean the belt with a damp cloth (no soap needed). Takes < 5 minutes and works like a charm every time.

I need to do my driver seat again as it's starting to get a little lethargic.

Don’t think it’s dust and dirt- mines pretty clean. But they definitely need some Viagra. I’ll tell my dealer when I’m in next time. Should definitely be warranty issue, and even moreso since they are safety related equipment. I had a ‘93 Acura that dealer replaced all seatbelts 10 years later when they failed to function properly (retracting)

Anyone else experience this? It's gone from a slow retract, to retracting only after I exit the vehicle and shut the door, to now not even retracting after I buckle myself in...

Add me to the list. Cleaned the belt and slot with alcohol and that helped. But that last 6-10 inches still won’t suck in without me manually feeding it. It’s definitely a weak spring.

Ford could save a lot of warranty claims if they’d just give us a way to wind that spring a couple turns heavier.

Oh well….time for another warranty claim call…

Spraying the belt with dry silicon lube AFTER CLEANING helps a ton.

Granted I’ve never had to do that on any other seat belt…
