Anyone else experience this? It's gone from a slow retract, to retracting only after I exit the vehicle and shut the door, to now not even retracting after I buckle myself in...

Hey there! I can look into your Bronco’s seat belt concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?

I’m having the same issue on my passenger belt now.

Mine doesn’t either. I think the passenger side seat recline mechanism is gonna STB soon, too.

Mine was failing to retract, super slow at best. I noticed some junk being built up on the upper point. Grabbed some isopropyl alcohol and cleaned it. Was still a bit slow, pulled the belt all the way out and cleaned the belt. During that process a chunk of crap (built up oils and trail dust) dislodged itself from the upper section. It now whips back into place.

So check for build up on the upper pivot point of seatbelt if this happens.

Hi Guys, bringing this one back to the top.
Does anyone know if Ford has issued a TSB for this issue? Having the same problem with very slow to sometimes not retracting at all. I've accidently closed the door on the seatbelt a few times because of this.

Anyone successfully get this repaired by the dealer and covered by the warranty?

No TSB that I'm aware of. But my dealer replaced both driver / passenger side retractors under warranty.

Like a few comments above, check for build up on the upper pivots. After a handful of open air offroad adventures, mine was gunked up and stopped retracting. After cleaning, it's just like new again!

Cleaning the upper pivots improved my slowed retraction significantly! Not sure back to normal 100% but much improved.

I had this issue and my local service department changed it out under warranty. The new tentioner is better but still fails to retract the seatbelt all the way all the time.

I've run into this on other vehicles. What I found was that the belt had been twisted and then rolled into the tensioner with the kink. Had to remove the panel, pull the belt all the way out and untwist, then carefully let it roll back up - all fixed. It sounds more like this is a weak tensioner, though.
