Thoughts on not buying right now?

WOW! Quite the response. To answer a few questions, the Badlands we're looking at is at $68k Sticker, but have a price locked in at $54995 on it. However, it's an auto, and I miss having a manual. They're definitely hurting, we got a quote on order a new heritage at 49,752 (2025), 2k under invoice. I just feel like an automatic bronco is like the pumpkin spice latte girls barbie jeep kinda vehicle. If I get a bronco I want to DRIVE it, not ride along sipping my mocha with the top off blaring britney spears. XD (Who's kidding who, I'm still gonna blast britney, just want to shift while I'm doing it, lolol)

The fact is these broncos (and ALL cars for that matter) are tanking. People way over paid due to panic buying during the covid crap, and now things are normalizing and it's gonna be interesting. No reason a badlands bronco was going for Raptor prices 2 years ago, that was just nuts.

Have you considered CPO Bronco? quite a few for sale here in FL, just about every trim/engine combination possible. I was tracking a 2 door BL non sas w/ manual and it sold for $37.5 - 22k on the odometer. It had sat for 5 months. It had the lux package. I have noticed 2 doors in general and manuals don't sell quickly in FL. It might be worth a look around your area to see if a drive is worth it.

A quick dive under the body will quickly tell you if ever went off-road.

Damn, bro, you went there. I bought an auto cause that's what I could get a great deal on- remember the point of your thread. Also, I drink a straight cold brew, no milk or sugar. It's a bare bones Big Bend, no lux.....

I think we both know that's not true.

Heck, if you look at Ferrari and other high performance vehicles, they've moved away from manuals because they're not even the optimum transmission for spirited driving. Sequential transmissions, especially dual ones, are superior in every way.

Right before the pandemic hit, I tried out a Golf R with the DSG, and frankly the DSG blows the manual out of the water. While I enjoyed having manuals in my GTI, WRX, and even my 911 back in the day, once you you start ripping through the gears in a DSG, it takes things to a new level.

Formula 1 has gotten away from rowing gears decades ago - and we're talking the pinnacle of automotive performance.

A DSG with the 2.7L would be absolutely awesome -- but in the meantime, that auto doesn't let me down.

So if you really miss a manual - should that not be your starting point in buying a Bronco? It was for me (and several others here), and manuals are hard to find now and are getting harder to find each year. And they are also getting harder to order and get scheduled for production - as several on here are now experiencing. All I can tell you is, having been a manual owner and driver for over 50 years, my 2024 2.3 Bronco with 7-speed manual has to be one of the most fun vehicles that I have ever driven.

I bought my WildTrak last month and got just over $4K and thought I got a decent deal, but obviously could have gotten an even better deal, that’s if and only if I could find one in the color I wanted as I was pretty firm on Cactus Grey.

I have two black cars now and swore no more black cars. Regular gray/ silver or other colors really didn’t grab me. I really wanted a Cactus Grey WT.

Do I feel maybe a little regret for waiting, maybe a little, but I have enjoyed my rig for a month. Besides, there’s no guarantee I would have found the car/colt I wanted locally, and if I had to travel (fly out) or ship one to me, that would’ve offset whatever savings I would’ve gotten.

So I’m just going to enjoy the vehicle I got.

I would disagree on the depreciation in most cases.
The value of land increase with what is placed there. If the home is not taken care of it will depreciate but the land underneath does as well. The lots where I live were going for 70k to 150k originally. After some time they came on the market between 35k and 60k. Most of the homes were custom builds for 400k and up. I was able to get a good sized lot (big enough to build out if needed but not too big to cut with a push mower) with a house around the same size for over 100k less.
But as I get older, those pauses at the riding mower section are more frequent and longer.

Homes depreciate - the land under them appreciates.

For this reason, you will pay extra and have a lower rate of return on a new home versus one that is a few years older, controlling for condition.

Having a documented ability to put a home on land helps its value. Having the infrastructure in place to provide services to the home helps further…but ultimately the structure itself does go down in value over time to a certain extent.

I’ve become a firm believer in making sure you have the largest lot you can afford in the lowest density area with a house that meets your needs…but be sure to save up some money to buy a big zero turn mower.

I didn’t buy a Bronco, I bought a manual transmission. Ford threw in the Bronco for free.

Since we lost our 15yr old six months ago, I have been a lot looser with the wallet. More travel, more concerts, dinners out, And our second Bronco.

My condolences, ours is a club nobody should ever have to join.

During Covid we bought a 20 acre lot with two homes. One a very nice modern but rustic log cabin, the other a a 1600 sq ft normal ranch, built in 2018. We are in the middle of nowhere. Closest Store is 30 min, same for health care but we love it. Paid $200k 4 1/2 years ago, now worth almost double. Bought the Bronco, 2 DR Wildtrak a year ago and still love this thing. Traded in my 2 door wrangler, which was paid off but I still owe on the Bronco which has depreciated like mad. What I can sell the Bronco for today is about $23k less than sticker price, though I got it for under that and with only 13k miles on it. All in about one years time. Cars drop value fast, homes do not.

I bought a New '23 Raptor un March of '24 for about $7k under MSRP- not a great deal by todays standards, but I have no regrets.

We lost my brother in law about a year prior at 35 who left behind a widow and two very young children. What life he did have was full of toys, trips and alot of memorable moment- he wanted to capture every moment. He had no idea how short his time was... a lesson we should all learn.

Just my opinion but see what news you all have. With Stellantis rumoring massive MSRP cuts and 10's of thousands of new 2024 broncos still sitting on lots, I'm feeling I should just wait a few months to buy. They are NOT moving high cost vehicles right now, and it's only getting worse. I think we're seeing the collapse of the car market that was sure to happen after then insane high in the market a couple years ago. I'm already seeing high level badlands for 10 to 15k off (Have a quote IN HAND for a lux badlands hardtop sasquatch for $54,995 Right now). If Stellantis DOES slash MSRP's that much, everyone else is going to have to follow (Only diehard bronco lovers are going to buy a bronco when a similar jeep is $20,000 less) Thoughts?

Jeep has been playing the 10% off game for over a year. They jack up the prices and then offer 10% off. Just be careful of playing the "good time to buy" game. It's not always what it seems. Plus, if you buy at a killer price, your resale probably won't be worth Jack! That's what happened to Jeep. If you're going to keep the Bronco awhile and get a good deal, I say go for it.
