The pigtail is for passing through power to the heat circuit unless I miss my guess and I'll be interested to see what @Papa Smurf did to power it.

Here you can see the two-part SCCM and Clockspring unit screwed together along with a large connector for the column wiring.

You are exactly correct. The pigtail powers the heating element and the temp sensor.

What did you connect to? As I recall there wasn't quite the wire matchup from the BCM that was expected.

I fuse tapped a 20amp fuse at the fuse panel underneath the driver side dash close to the OBD plug. Fuse 37 I believe. The Bronco does something different than my Maverick did. The Broncos already have power coming off fuse 37…. It powers the other half of the SCCM. The lux wire harnesses have a splice the splits the wire off into 2 sections. I just tapped into that fuse and ran a separate wire. If someone wanted, they could t-tap that existing wire and gain power. I wanted it to be reversible if I wanted to take it off later.
The other half of the pigtail is a ground. There are a few locations hidden under the dash.

This is surprisingly more or less the exact experience I had doing this mod to my '17 LWN. The heat circuit takes good old fashioned 12V oomph, not any of the step voltage, 5V bullshit.

What changes in FORSCAN were needed?

For ForScan, I went through each module and searched “heat” for a heated steering wheel option. I think it was in IPC, HVAC, SCCM, and APIM. Maybe BCM too.

ForScan for the modules, copy and paste the As Built data from a Lux VIN. I took a picture of the screen with my phone and then input those values into the As Built quadrants

That's how we get them from FMC. Generally, they don't package that well, sometimes stuff just shows up loose in the cage with a part number and shipping label.

As a reminder, once you program the SCCM, you will lose the left steering wheel controls until you correct the switch option. Look in the SCCM easy mode before you program to know your switches.
