Starlink Mini installed for remote camping

Just bought a. Starlink Mini for use while remote camping and also for the next time a hurricane blows through Houston and our internet connection goes down for a week.

So far I’m very impressed. I’m using it to use it to post this message!

After watching U-Tube videos regarding mobile use through glass sun roofs, I wondered if it would receive through the composite top (MIC top).
Stationary, it seems to work without issues even though it is not optimally aligned. Haven’t tried it while in motion yet.

What bracket are you using for the Bluetti? Looking for something similar for mine

I just did 10 hours round trip to Rapid City SD and back for Christmas, and ran my starlink all the way streaming music. there's a huge dead zone of cellular between Lusk WY and Mule Creek Junction. keep right on playing and pulling 75-80 megabit in motion.

Mine in motion streams music great. WiFi calling works ok in motion - it can get interrupted with trees/buildings/etc. and sound just like a bad cell signal, but if you stop in an area with a signal it’s pretty solid.

What mount did you use?

It’s just a piece of 1” flat bar (stainless) X 7” long, bent as noted. Uses the Starlink tripod mount via a hole on one end and M8x1.25 threads on the other. Had some left over M8 eye bolts that match the roll bar holes and the MIC hold down bolts.

The lights are from NEBO, attached with Velcro for battery access.

Holding out for ASTS to be fully functioning, if it becomes fully functioning, so I don't need to buy the extra receiver. It will be some time still so if you have the money this is a great setup and smart move.
