I was offered the same by dealer. 23 obx with 11k miles....44k$ i had a brand new one come in on order but 44k was too low of a trade.

I was not that mad as this is natural depreciation
That's a much better trade in value for an obx with 11k miles than a Wildtrak with 10k

The value will only get lower over the next few years. The model has hit it's mid life crisis stage, bronco is no longer the new thing and not very economical to own. The huge constraint issues early on also mean most used Broncos don't have the desirable options like the new ones. Very few people are looking at new broncos let alone used ones with Toyota rolling out all updated vehicles.

I am working on buying a F150, dealers have a lot of inventory and only want trades in the $15-25k range. The whole point of taking a trade in right now is getting something they can easily off load. They seem to be more interested in cutting me a deal if I trade my used 150k 2016 F150 in.

Let me throw in a recommendation for the F-150 Tremor. The truck is a beast.

In all of my car trades I got best trade value on Tacomas, 4Runners, stripped Wranglers, full size Denali truck, and my wife’s past Lexus.

Took a complete bath on an Audi, Camaros, Nissan Titan, and my wife’s past Infinitis.

I am thinking that the Bronco will between the middle for trade in value.
I would keep yours long enough and get your warranty out of it.

Hey everyone, wanted to share my experience here in case it helps anyone. Purchaed a '23 Hot Pepper Red Bronco at invoice price last October (roughly 62k). I added about 15k in accessories (paint protection, leveling kit etc), and it has 10k miles on it.

Took a shot in the dark and ordered a new '24 Wildtrak with the painted top. Dealer offered me 43k for mine (Bluebook shows a range of 53k to 60k). Dealer is only offering me 43k for it, and in getting other offers the best I've gotten is 45k. I';m told this is because the market is flooded with Broncos.

Is this consistent with anyone else's experience?
Supply and demand. Dealerships have so many sitting on their lots already.

A dealer offered$36K for my 22 Base on trade for a new Ranger, the same MSRP I paid new. There is something to be said for going with the lower models. I wouldn't think there are many people looking to spend around $50K on a used Bronco or Jeep for that matter.
What mileage do you have if you don't mind me asking?

Damn! I bought my new 24 Raptor out the door for 79k (almost 20k off). The bronco marking is crashing big time. I can get a new Sasquatch for 45k now.

Aftermarket accessories are worth exactly ZERO on a trade in, and may decrease value if not high quality, well executed or compromise the vehicle. You also have to take into consideration warranty and will it be voided by any aftermarket equipment. You have to sell privately if you're looking to recoup aftermarket accessories values and then it's iffy as the loan value on the vehicle will not support the perceived accessories value.

I have a '23 HPR 4dr Big Bend V6 Sas, I'd be pretty happy with 43k at trade. Carmax offered me 39k several months ago.

SO, I'm in the search for a 2 door mostly base model with no lift and just all weather tires. I would like proximity entry and a manual transmission, would really like the 360 camera since I will be loading it in my home on wheels when I travel, but I think you can add one these days.

I've driven a couple over the past two weeks with a manual trans and like them. First one had a lift package with rear locker, but it will be hard to get it into my trailer. The one I drove yesterday had only 2600 miles on it, but had lots of issues. If it had been pristine I may have made an offer. They had a price of $39,900. The "Sticker" was still in the glove box with a TOTAL MSRP of $34,470.00 I have no idea what these dealers are thinking, or what the original owner paid for it. They said it was a "One Owner" unit, but came from Tennessee. Also found the registration that showed 20 miles for an odometer notation.

Heading out in a bit to drive an Automatic. I test drove a 2024 with the Auto Trans and the 2.3 a couple days ago, but was less than impressed after having self control of the shifting.

Wish me luck.

Right, but my dealer isn't willing to reduce the price of the new Wildtrak WHATSOEVER outside of the measly $2,500 that the factory is offering. I guess it makes more sense to let it sit on the lot for months with the others they can't sell?
That’s just crazy, hard to believe dealers trying to play hard ball when there are so many Broncos available!

My local dealer has brand new Wildtraks on the lot all at least $5000 off msrp plus Ford offers!

Yup, got a quote to get my current top painted for $800. My only other issue is that I don't really like the red color, but I wasn't entirely sold on the white one I was getting either. What I REALLY wanted was Antimatter Blue, but I wasn't going to put down 38k for a 2 year old first year Bronco with 40k miles on it.
Speaking of red, I cannot believe Ford dumped Race Red. It's one of my favorite paint colors of any make or model.

Put in a low ball offer and tell them to call you when they're ready to move it. Be polite about it, of course.

To reiterate this. It looks like you have a 23? Wildtrak and are looking for a 24 for the mod top and my have had a 21 Dirt Mtn like @Headsong and I. Well, Headsongs may have disappeared into magic mountain but...We all bought at peak demand and low supply, but that's ok we've been enjoying them. Then with high MSRPs now, ours look pretty good even with rebates/incentives. Just drive it. Everyday you drive it YOU get value out of it and the mods you've done that nobody will pay you for. At some point the value you've gotten will outweigh what you've spent and you will be the winner whether you keep or trade. Someday maybe it will make sense for us to buy Mod tops for our older Broncos or maybe Ford will buy them for us when they admit the MIC was junk (knock on wood, mine's fine)

All the tops in the 21-22 model years are junk. Mine doesn't have the sound deadening and in certain temperatures it creaks here and there. The whole interior is just cheap feeling. The processor is slow and makes the software laggy. I paid 46k for mine and 20k Kia's have better computers and interiors. It's a cool ride and I still enjoy my Bronco but I'll try to move into a 4Runner next year once they get their supply up.

Everything is tanking right now.
I had a carvana quote a few months back for my Jeep at 35k
Figured trade in would still be close.
Best offer I got now was 28k

Rates are high
Sticker on cars are still high
Used car values are tanking across the board.

I don't think I've EVER seen a dealer offer BlueBook value on a trade. In fact, every one of them has probably said to me "We don't go by BlueBook".
Same experience here. And over 50 years of car buying and selling experience. Have heard dealers chuckle too many times when KBB brought up as a reference, especially when common practice is to send the trade to auction right away (and never hit the dealer's used car lot).

Fact is the entire car market is readjusting right now. Not just from Covid but also from new trending economic factors.

The Bronco is caught in a double squeeze - overall market readjustment + supply glut.

I don't think the math works this way in CA.. where you pay tax @x.yz% on the sale price instead of the sale price minus trade-in value
May have been answered by someone else already, but I think CA, VA, and one or two other states do not allow this reduction in tax paid if the trade in is subtracted from the new auto. I think Ohio and Michigan have certain rules about max that can be subtracted or something as well.
