It probably doesnt matter much as long as it meets the requirments of API SP engine testing. If you plan to keep the Bronco for a long time I would definitely use the fully synthetic motorcraft instead of the blend but I think motorcraft oil is overpriced.

I use Mobil 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0w-30 since I live in a cold place.

Some experts like @CarbonSteel say Mobil 1 ESP 0w-30 might be the best oil to use in the 2.7 engine. Probably even more important to use an oil like that for the 2.3 since it lacks port injection. It doesn't meet ford's WSS/API resource conserving spec because it's not "resource conserving", instead prioritizing high temperature high shear performance. I don't use it though since it doesn't carry the Ford spec and I'm paranoid about the warranty. I did a few used oil analysis with the AFE oil I'm using and wear metals are low so I think it's fine, and it's $5/quart at Wal-Mart in the 5 qt jugs. With that said, I'm at less than 1% fuel dilution on 4000-7000 mile oil change intervals according to speediagniastix UAO, unlike some Bronco drivers that are reporting 3%+.

I think in today's modern age its sort of splitting hairs deciding which fill-in-the-blank brand of oil to use and its more about frequency/dilligence of changes than anything. Pretty much any modern full synthetic is high quality and I just choose to use one that specifically lists the Ford spec on the bottle in the Mobil 1 advanced

We use any name-brand 5w-30 full synthetic oil (Mobil1, Valvoline, Pennzoil, etc.) that meets Ford WSS-M2C961-A1.
Same. Whatever is on sale that week, full synthetic

Pennzoil Ultra Platinum. It would be my choice regardless, but I bought my BD used with 9k on it from a regional car dealer owned by Penske Motors. If I change annually with Pennzoil and keep receipts, I have a ten year, 150k mile powertrain warranty from this regional dealer. I don't see them going anywhere as Penske just bought them. They focus on 1-5 year old mid-priced vehicles that have clean histories and are as close to mint as you can get for their age. No haggle fair price too. Bought my BD a year ago when the best you could do was MSRP around me - if you were lucky. I did not want to wait on a factory order, got it for $600 off MSRP (end of but still in hype phase) with only a $400 delivery fee (so basically $2k off for 1 year old with 9k miles) and kept 2 years and 27k miles of factory bumper to bumper plus the new 10 year powertrain warranty. I know, if I waited another year I could get 4-6k off new on the lot now, but it's very hard to time markets and I can't buy back a year of my life loving my Bronco!

Moble1 "Extended Performance" Full Synthetic. The package says it's good for 20,000 miles, but...really? Even if it were that good, am I going to leave an oil filter in service that long?

I changed it at 41K with the Mobile1 filter, and plan to change it at 50K. So if it's supposed to be good for 20K, I figure 10K should work out.

Thoughts, comments, criticism?

Valvoline ran an Explorer with the 2.3L engine for 500,000 miles on their synthetic. They also ran another identical Explorer for 500,000 miles on their conventional oil. There was more engine wear and varnish with the conventional oil.

They just followed Ford's recommended oil change interval.

I don't think brand of synthetic oil really matters as long as it meets Ford's specification.

I'm sure 10k with pretty much any modern synthetic oil would be just fine under normal driving conditions.. I choose 5k to align it with tire rotations and because I like to waste money for peace of mind I guess.

Only Wix filters for me. Kicked around the idea early on of installing a spin-on filter adapter on my 2.7 in place of the inverted canister filter just for the anti-drainback feature to avoid dry starts all the time but never did.

There are some oil filters like the FRAM Endurance that can last 20K miles, but there is no oil that will last that long in these Ecoboost engines. Fuel dilution which causes viscosity and TBN reductions will make it unserviceable long before you hit 20K miles.
