Well yeah I should have specified, it was not my exact top, Fabion had sent my pic separate, the email showed them working on a top which was blac btw, but still decent touch to what proccess it is at.

I did hear that the white tops are taking longer than the black tops at the powder. Not sure why, may be because they had to re-tool for the new white color match.

I received the same email. When the top shows up then we’ll know!

yeah I got an email asking which white I would prefer and told him that I'd take whatever was faster because I don't have a white bronco to match it to.

I think the white top is cool but I wouldn't want it on our white bronco. Just...too much. Would definitely look better on a car with color. Plus no worries on trying to color match.

The way I have it, It will be white, but my Molle panels, side and back will be black and my roof panels will Forged Carbon. (wrapped) That way my Hood and fenders will all match up. The Molle will break up the white.

I do know my top was done in the Off-White and I was asked do I want the Oxford White match and I said yes.

Good call on the molle panels and other touches. That will break it up nicely. And it's going to look awesome. After we did the fiberglass fenders it was "too much" white and something was needed to break it up a little bit on ours. Hockey puck stickers did the trick, but then I didn't like the door handles being separate. So had to have them redone to go over the handles to blend them in. Which of course made getting the lines right on the rear fenders a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch for the shop doing the work. 😆 😆

OOF! yes, I understand that. Having the fenders in white and then the door handles, lots of white
I know lining that stuff up was difficult, but it came out nice. Time for shipping! Lets go!

Cool is right, literally. My white van is way cooler in hot weather than my old dark blue T100 with matching camper shell. That's why I plan to go for the white Armadillo top on my Bronco. Ordering the Bronco perhaps in a matter of days now....

One more reason to opt for the insulation upgrade.

Something really weird, now that you mention it. I’ve had three raptor pickups-still have the third one. And there is something about that truck that is HOT temperature wise. The first two had the same roof and no issues. But this one I had to ceramic tint the roof too to try to help it out. Our bronco with a black hardtop and that cheap insulation they put on there? Feels more comfortable than the Gen3 rappy. I don’t understand what the deal is with that truck at all.

But yeah-not worried about the black roof if the insulation is as good as they claim.

I love the looks of the Armadillo top. I like the concept of opening it all up by removing strategic panels. I think the liners and accessories; all very cool and could add substantially to the utility of the vehicle. I really want one for my Bronco and would be willing to pay their price for the priviledge.

BUT, their terms are straight up bonkers, not to mention contradictory. For starters [emphasis added]:

“Armadillo does not warrant and is not responsible for damages caused by off-roading”

A gentle start and what looks like support of that idea:

“All claims must be filed on the Armadillo website. If such a limited warranty claim begins, the customer must have proof of being the original/sole owner of the product, never used off-road, ...”

Yet in a confusing twist they stipulate:

“All products sold by Armadillo Designs are aftermarket products and are intended for off-road … use only.”

Ok, that is a head scratcher and In one more dissonant statement:

“There is no warranty on our products because of the nature of the industry (Off-road)…”

Setting aside the complete lack of accountability for the product, we dig further to find:

“All products may need prepping, sanding, welding, grinding, shaving, filling gaps, and/or other body work.”

So much for that nice powder coat finish. Don’t worry though, they do not think you should be handling the installation anyway because:

“Armadillo Designs highly recommends that a professional “custom” shop with proper automotive customization experience perform the installation.”

And yet they do not even trust “professionals” since:

“Auto shops experienced in OEM installations may not be experienced in all Armadillo Designs product installations.”

In case all the other crazy did not convince you:

“The customer releases all liability from Armadillo Designs.”

And you do not get to contest this because:

“After submitting your order, you agree to the terms and conditions including cancellation, returns, and exchanges.”

I am not a lawyer but wonder if all this means they can take our money ship us a poorly fitting and poorly functioning hunk of aluminum and still keep our money without making reparations.

I would really love to have an Armadillo top but not if it is going to be more trouble than the MIC top warranty loop. At least FoMoCo will keep replacing it and will not make me wait 6 months+ to deliver.

What do you think?

Lmao. Gotta love picturing the meeting.

"We'll cover ourselves by saying it is for offroad use only"

"Oh nice. But what if it gets damage somehow while offroading?"

"Who the hell would expect us to pay for their top if they roll the damn thing?"

"Well, obviously that's silly. But like...what if a weld breaks cause they got a little flexy flex?"

"oooo yeah. Okay. That's a good point. Well we'll just say that we don't cover any damage that occurs while using our off-road only top while off-roading"

"I like it!!! Anyone else?"

"Hey...why don't we just...make sure we build it to high enough standards that it won't be an issue? We are charging eight grand for these effin things"

"Hey why don't you just get the hell out and stop interrupting our productive meeting?!? We clearly got it handled!"

@mcinfantry I really want to. Are you involved? Can you provide more clarity?

These young dudes and their incubator have the scent of some bad Kickstarters I have backed. Still don't have that 3D printer but there were trade shows and media as well as a handful of deliveries. Sound familiar?

That was a single digit percentage of the Armadillo investment, so ya know, different risk profile. Especially when I see all these posts about people who ordered in June and still do not have their top, "but just wait, yours is next in production." I've seen the coverage and Armadillo's posts, and find them wanting. They are "building" these on somone else's equipment using other people's money while funding their own media tour. Read their site. Read their Terms & Conditions. Tell me I am wrong. It is a "forum" after all.

@SierraBronco gets it. They have skin in the game and are holding the muddy end of the stick, at least for now. Hopefully that changes...
