Do they seem to throw a lot of light or are they more for visibility?

I’m looking for a light bar for my capable bumper and this seem to be a good fit. It’s affordable, subtle, and doesn’t require drilling. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I bought a 40” single row white M&R bar in late 2021 for my Badlands and mounted above the windshield. When I got my Braptor I contacted them & bought a pair of brackets to install it on my bumper (KC across the windshield) and used it until I installed a winch in early September. Great product, worked well, value priced, terrific support/service & easy install. I am a fan!

Gratuitous pics for your viewing pleasure

So I’m looking to get the materials together. I have the crimper and the heat shrink splicers.

What size ring terminal do I need to ground it on the bolt?

Ring terminals are based on the wire gauge as well as the stud size. If you are planning to ground it on the existing ground location directly above the AUX wires, use a #10 ring terminal for a 16-20 AWG wire. Be sure to use some heat shrink over the crimp barrel.

I installed the light bar and ditch lights on my Raptor from M&R. I leave my light bar on all the time with the amber running lights with zero issues. Easy install and to top it off, the owner Mike is a super nice guy and extremely helpful and responsive if you have questions or issues.

Just this week I had to remove the driver side ditch light and metal mounting plate to wire up something else. While I waited for the part I needed, the metal mounting plate vanished from the garage when my wife decided to do a rage goodwill run. I emailed Mike and I had a replacement mounting plate in 2 days. Great customer service goes along way with me especially when you have great products.

I was planning on using the bolt under the hood like in the install video. Same gauge?

Did you guys need to remove the skid plate on a badlands / capable bumper or was there enough room to squeeze through?

Since you said you leave it on all the time, do you have to turn the Aux switch off each time or do those turn off with the key?

I have the amber lights on AUX5 and I just leave it on. The led portion of it is on AUX2. The M&R ditch lights are wired similar, amber on AUX6 and led AUX3. The AUX switches turn on and off with the Bronco so with the AUX switch in the on position they technically come on when I start up. Hope that makes sense!

I’ve never wired anything in a car before. How does this look? Should I wrap in electrical tape to prevent water intrusion ?

Looking good @Nickyweg

pAre those heat shrink connectors? If so, you should use a heat gun to shrink them appropriately. If not, a weatherproof barrier will be helpful to ensure the connections will not oxidize and compromise the connection. I am not a huge fan of electrical tape because it leaves a terrible residue. There are better solutions including heat shrink tubing or liquid electrical tape.

Before you “weatherproof” the connections, I would also throw a dab of dielectric grease on the wire as it enters the ground ring terminal and each side of the butt connector just for good measure.

I am looking to purchase the curved 40" light bar. Since NY requires a front plate and I currently have my plate in the stock location on the grille below the Ford emblem, can anyone verify the distance behind the curved light and grille? In the pictures and install video on their website, it appears there is enough room to leave my plate in the stock location. Of course, worst case scenario, I can purchase the plate relocation bracket but hoping to avoid that. Thanks!
