30K Mile Service Price

Dropped my rig off for the 30K service. In hindsight, I should've contacted the dealer to understand what's included along with the costs. Curious if others are doing this service and incurring similar costs. For reference , I'm located in Bellevue, WA.

Yeah... so... that's not the standard Ford 30,000 service visit.

30k is basically a comprehensive inspection along with an engine air filter change. Which, to be fair, they did. But the brake fluid, transmission fluid, alignment, HVAC system cleaning, fuel corrosion inhibiter, etc. etc. is all extra service items that particular dealer tacked on as part of their package.

@NeoS281 - you are not the only one my friend. Others here on B6G are very brave and wise and can change these fluids in thier sleep (that prob doesn't sound right). I however, am not that skilled and can barely find the correct side of my debit card. I used a large portion of my Ford Pass Rewards to cover these essential fluid services at 25K miles, otherwise, the price would have been crazy! Here are the fluids I changed out below...

Took mine to Christian Brothers recently and they had great service, showed photos of everything, and reasonable prices. $1500 for a 30k mile vehicle is insane.

aka, blinker fluid.

You should go back in and ask: is this "oil conditioner" a Ford-specified product? No? Then take it off.

I've seen the youtube videos. I'm pretty sure some of them ARE doing that!

Here’s the recommended maintenance items for 30,000 miles. Price seems excessive. Did they itemize the parts list?

Prices for any vehicle work today are stupid insane. Given that the price is "reasonable". Big expense on this is 4 wheel alignment, transmission fluid exchange, oil change. Rest are visual inspections. Yes some of us can do this "in our sleep". I can do all this and will for fraction of the cost. My wife's 2013 Silverado needed all new front suspension- struts, upper and lower control arms with ball joints, new tires and rear shocks. Prices were simply insane in the mid to upper thousands of dollars. I got the parts from Rock Auto for about 800, did all the work myself, except for the tires. Those alone with alignment were $1500.

I might even make them take it out and change the oil a couple times to get rid of it all...

You may have been due for brake fluid flush. Every 3 years is a good time regardless of how many miles you put on it because DOT 3 or 4 absorbs moisture. I also change trans fluid every 30k regardless. But that's just me.

Are trans, tcase and diff fluids essential for changing at the 25k mark? I thought it was much further out, or maybe after extreme service usage.
