So Manual doesn't have a Park , just neutral, thought so. I think people here are missing the point of why lawyers will not allow manufactures to remote start a manual. Yes but an automatic has a push button lock that usually requires the brake to be pressed also to move the lever out of park. A manual stick is simply sitting there in the middle. That makes an Auto much safer . Now you could put all types of sensors and write a simple program of and/or, XIC XIO etc commands to create any level of redundancy you can imagine but it all comes down to that one signal that tells it to start and that gear shift lever that can be bumped into gear by a child or pet etc. Back in the early 2000s I installed a remote start on a couple of my custom bikes just as attention getters at large bike events. I always was sitting on the bike when I demoed it and never installed one for a customer due to liability since the shifter is there in the open for anyone to bump. Of course I used a sensor to kill the motor if it was bumped into gear. The argument here seems to have moved from why Doesn't Ford make remote start for a manual to how it can be done. You're talking about two different things now... My point was there is a sensor to determine that a vehicle with an automatic is in park, and you pretended there wasn't. I don't recall ever pretending that an automatic doesn't use sensors,lol. As I stated earlier it sounds like you have a great idea to make some money. You have obviously thought this out well and more so than anyone previously. You don't even have to design the remote start system, just go to some company that has been selling them for decades and tell them,hey I have this idea for manual remote starts ! If my doors are locked, who exactly is going to "bump" the gear stick somehow magically into gear? If someone is in my vehicle, I wouldn't need a remote starter, would I?
I've been driving manuals for 33 years now, I've never had one magically jump into gear.

Recently I replaced my stick blender. The new one has a silly interlock not unlike that. Pain in the ass, frankly.Maybe a collor that you have to pull up with your fingers before the gear shift can be move.

Do you need to set the temp you want before you turn off the vehicle - the night before when you are parking?I use mine in the summer when its hot and winter when its cold to get it up to a comfortable temp. By doing it on auto I dont have to think about it and where its parked I can hear it start inside my house. When Im getting ready for work thats like an alarm that says I have 15min to get moving or Im gonna be late for work.
