Cars honking behind you

So you are driving along, and someone in front of you is driving slowly on a typical one lane each way suburban road. Could be an elderly person, a person distracted by screens, whatever. The amount of honks I get to speed up (driver behind me can't see slow car in front of me) is surprising. I also have an F-150, which is pretty big and wide, and never noticed this as much. My Bronco seems to attract honks!

Yeah happens to me every now and again. When I’m stuck behind a slowpoke, cars behind me think I’m the slow one because they can’t see who’s in front of me

I put up a cargo net to blind them even more. But people just do it, I drive slower when they do.

(Actually, don't ever put those funny gun/ammo stickers or signs on your truck or property. If you ever actually use your firearm, some prosecutor or lawyer will be quizzing you on the witness stand, yelling, "Isn't it true, Mr. Bronco-owner, that you were just itching to shoot somebody who pissed you off? Your sign sure seems to say so!")

Regarding the thread's subject, if you're the one who's going slow, look for a chance to let them get around you, let them pass, then go your merry way. Better to watch them ahead of you instead of your rearview mirror.

This is typically what I do, I just "accidentally" bump the shoulder a touch so they can clearly see it's not my big yellow ass holding up the line.

^ This. I get this every once in awhile. Not so much honking but tailgating. The Bronco is wide and talI. I just move over a little so the twit behind me can see there's a car in front of me slowing things down.

When I had my XJ, the rear washer nozzle broke (like everything else) and started doing this. It wasn't very powerful but when in motion I could hit the car behind me pretty good. When stopped I was lucky to dribble on their bumper.

I believe there are similar rules in many states. In California, IIRC, with 3 cars behind you on a road with only one lane in your direction, you must pull over at the first available opportunity.

It’s law in California - I do see folks occasionally pulled over for it too. Mostly tourists in rented RVs driving for the first time in the mountains
