Went up to Columbus OH this past weekend with the wife to go see some friends and our families in OH and PA.
Got ready to leave yesterday and found that some lowlife decided to break into my Bronco, 2 other Broncos, and a couple trucks. Police said they were looking for guns and it’s common up there now.

Called Safelite and they said the closest appointment to replace the glass was a week out. Called a local Ford dealer and they said they didn’t have glass. I had them look at other dealers and just so happened that a dealer in Salem, IN had the EXACT window in stock. Someone ordered the glass for theirs then cancelled the job. Service manager said they never stock Bronco glass. Got me in and out in an hour, shoutout to Eddie Gilstrap Ford I will certainly consider buying a vehicle next time around from them. Unbelievable that they had it and was on the way back to Nashville

Edit: They also sold the glass to me at $340. The thing I’m most annoyed about is I have to get it retinted but at least I have glass. Also need touch up paint since the ahole scratched my door.

Your unbelievable luck extends to the fact it was tinted. That should have limited the amount of broken glass inside .
Yeah it mostly came out in one piece, the bottom portion was in the door but that came out when they swapped glass. Extremely thankful I didn’t have a glass claymore explode lol

Count your blessings. Working in auto service you were VERY lucky to find that. I could deal with no tint for a few days all things considered.

Oh I am, I was not looking forward to waiting on glass to come in. Ford was saying at least a week too

We have to say that because FORD doesn't stock glass, it all comes from Carlite so we have no idea where it is coming from. Maybe local warehouse maybe not .

Yeah, Columbus has definitely become a big city with big city problems now. I travel there regularly for business. Glad this worked out as good as it did for you though.

Tinted windows is always an invitation to break the glass to see what is inside.

Sadly that is true. Seems like this is super common now. Saw back in May there was 70 cars hit in one night.

That sucks. The tint likely held a lot of it together, but it still makes a mess. Hopefully they vacuumed the inside of the door out. I had a broken door glass replaced one and the shop left all the glass inside door. It would make some noise when I closed the door and hit bumps. I took it apart myself to track down what I thought was just a rattle and I could not believe how much glass was still inside the door.

They took their time cleaning the door out which I appreciate too. There’s one piece in the door still but I can live with it, it’ll fall out eventually!

Most thieves are smarter than that 🤦‍♀️

Lots of them work as a team as well... one hoodbooger will walk through an area giving vehicles a quick glance to see If there's any valuables inside.. and the other hoodboogers drive along shortly after.. smashing into cars the first shithead said to have stuff inside.. throwing it into their vehicle and driving off. 3-5 seconds per vehicle.. then it's off into the night.

Having tinted windows eliminates a good portion of risk.

I like Columbus, there definitely is some nice spots but like the one guy above said it’s a big city now with big city problems.

That’s exactly how it goes there. They intentionally hit SUVs and trucks because their thought process is they are more likely to have guns. Tint is definitely not the cause here.
