I drove both and I’m telling ya, the 2.3 is for city/highway driving but won’t perform as good on the trail due to the considerably less torque. You can tune a 2.3 all you want but it’ll always be missing 2 cylinders and the twin turbo. I say go with the 2.7. Try to build a badlands with no lux package and see how much difference the price will bePeople keep saying that about the 2.3 that it will perform like the 2.7 when it has the Ford performance tune. However, I wonder how many people were driving the 2.7, switched to the 2.3 and tuned it to really give a fair comparison. I feel like most people who say just that have only had experience with the 2.3, and based on the numbers on paper say it performs the same as the 2.7. But I agree, if this was for me only, the 2.7 would mandatory. But this will be my wifes daily and weekend offroad toy.
