Portals?I guess this was this last weekend... Had a fun day.... Old friend from high school showed up and we went out on a trail ride with the local FBI....![]()
Yep. allows me to take lines that were not available before. like this one... there were two lines... either left or right... I chose the center.... not possible without portals or 48 inch tires.Portals?
Curious how the portals feel on the road and go fast situations? Feel less stable? I realized early that the clearance on these trucks is terrible especially in the rear with the link mount. 35's on this truck gives me the same clearance my tacoma had on like 33's. Portals are a dream but definitely been curious how the gearing in the portals affect the transmission logic, what top speed is with the extra gearing, and what overall drivability is like.Yep. allows me to take lines that were not available before. like this one... there were two lines... either left or right... The 1.22 gear reduction on the portals makes the gearing and power feel stock... I do feel the additional unsprung weight. but it feels like wearing a set of heavy boots. Planted and stable. I did move to 2.5 inch coil overs for the additional dampening and it is fantastic. Ride is better than stock. About a week and a half ago had an emergency situation when a landscaping truck ran straight in a turn only lane cutting me off in the middle of a construction intersection. Very very pleased with the Bronco. tires locked up before abs kicked in and then had to shift lanes within 100 feet deceling from 35... would have taken a header into an F250.... No problem.... very stable, handled very well. Extremely pleased. I do feel the additional rotational resistance from the 40x13.5s... I hit the snails a bit harder going up and down the hills on the interstate and highways but lots and lots of passing power left over.Curious how the portals feel on the road and go fast situations? Looks fun! What brand and size tires are you running?I guess this was this last weekend... Had a fun day.... Old friend from high school showed up and we went out on a trail ride with the local FBI....![]()
Nitto Trail grapplers 40x13.5.... really pleased with them. Not too much noise and they preform exceptionally in every situation I have put them in.... Do not think they will do all that well on ice... but the deep fluffy stuff was great. Clay mud, very well. Sand exceptional. sandy dirt trails very good. and rocks exceptional. Way way better than my old TSL swampers. my old Toyo MTs were similar but louder and sidewalls were just a touch stiffer. The Toyo RTs preform slightly better on road but no where close off road.Looks fun! What brand and size tires are you running?
Awww, come on man, I could do that in a Geo Metro.Yep. allows me to take lines that were not available before. like this one... there were two lines... either left or right... I chose the center.... not possible without portals or 48 inch tires.
Funny you should say that... there was a Ford Fiesta parked half way up that run....Awww, come on man, I could do that in a Geo Metro.
Sigh. I canβt remember the last time I found Blantonβs on the shelf.Drove my Bronco to get a bottle of Blanton's without ADM.
