Due to the hardtop set up that I have which will be stored above my vehicle, the current OEM antenna will contact the top. I know it’s minimal, but I don’t want the hard top to sway while hoisted up. To do this I would need to get a shorter antenna. Are any stubby antennas actually work as good as the OEM? If so, which ones are there?

Radio reception is important as is looks.

I got the stubby that you can swap the colors on the base ang tip that look like fake Carbonfiber. I went with the Blu. Reception is as good as stock but I mostly do Sat Radio.

if you're using it for FM, the long ones are way less compromised for reception especially for longer distances.

I have a CravenSpeed Stubby and the reception dropped drastically with FM.

Built right industries stubby is what had on my ‘23 and have it on my ‘24 now. No problems with radio reception. Made in the USA.

I have had the Craven Speed on my WT for more than a year with no loss of reception. Very happy with it.

The closest radio station to me is 35 miles away. I put a stubby antenna on my other F150, I took it off three days later because if I drove any of three directions away from the station I would loose it. If you are in a bigger city and pretty much stay in the city you should be good to go. If you travel out of th e city you will loose stations pretty fast.

I guess I can see if the OEM antenna contacts the hoisted top. In all reality I only need the antenna to be 5-6 inches shorter….doesnt need to be a stubby…

I have this one. Works well.

I have this one also and I think it's a really good OEM replacement, but lately it has been spending all its time on my dash in that long slotted area up by the windshield on the passenger side.

I have an antenna delete I bought for carwashes that I keep in all the time now because I never listen to the radio ( I use a jump drive with all my music on it)

Anyway this is what I'm using which isn't good for reception https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BN5YRFXR?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
If anyone is looking to go in that direction

BuiltRight warns purchasers that the stubby will reduce signal, best "if you don't use your AM/FM radio!" In other words, it's for looks. But better than nothing. I've kept my OEM antenna.

That exterior plug along with this is the best solution if you still listen to broadcast radio without an exterior whip antenna

. Auto Car Hidden Amplified Antenna 12V Electronic Stereo AM/FM Radio Universal | eBay

Back in the 90's we use to bend the whips into different designs like a musical bass note . It was common on the mini-trucks back then . As long as you did not change the total length of the antenna it would perform the same as stock. Just get the torch out and start bending :)
