I also have the B&O - posted on this thread earlier - did the Hertz and PRV in the center. Wasn't totally thrilled with the center (kind of "tinny" and wound up running in stereo), so got another Hertz and installed in the center. Threw everything off. Now center is blaring and I hear a hissing on certain songs (sounds like excessive cymbal?). Also doesn't get as "loud" with the top and doors off. Debating on what to do next - go back to the PRV w/ 300hz bass blockers as I saw in another thread or any other suggestions for the center???
@hilmerdm - did you go with the standard PRV or did you try out their newer Neodymium type ? PRV NeoDymium

Making time to install the hertz. Did you have to tin snip the ears on fronts and rear?

I cut both ends of the Metra 72-5603 and crimped in 22-18 female connectors - fit perfectly.

That would be my expectation as I don't see why more capable aftermarket speakers would need bass blockers when the crappy factory speakers don't.
They have crossovers.

fronts have a crossover going to their tweeter. I’m going to trust that the signal from the amp has a filter.

Rears don’t have a separate tweeter but have a filter. I’m going to add bass blockers to the rear as I believe they are getting full signal from the head unit.

I replaced the dash speakers today with Hertz(and 600hz bass blockers) and am very pleased with how they sound with the stock 7 speaker system. I’ll probably buy a second set for the rear pods, since i’m not ready to purchase amps/new 6.5 pods/new sub until the bronco is paid off.

I’d like to thank @Brian_B for the speaker recommendation and @RagnarKon for breaking the dash speaker cover tab so i did not have to(great how-to videos by the way).

Installed a pair of the Hertz DCX 100.3 speakers in the front with 600Hz blockers as well as replaced the 4" rears with Kicker KM 6.5" speakers mounted in the larger SSV works pods. Really happy with the sound upgrade over the stock B&O speakers. It's like night and day. Can crank the volume to max with minimal distortion. Rear sub still sucks but is more tolerable now with the wider range of the new speakers.

Nice! Yup those bass blockers help out with unwanted frequencies. When i switched my Kicker Key to only output stuff at 120hz or above it changed my sound and allowed my to go much higher in volume with minimal distortion. When you do change out the sub though - it will take it to another level. I would highly suggest that if you get a new amp to match a new sub, tune it with a multimeter to get the BEST results. Takes out the guess work :)

Dont second guess the Hertz - they rock. Have them in the front corners and also in the speaker pods. Night and day difference
do you have a link to the exact ones you got? Does it come with any plug n play type kit? I have zero idea what I'm doing, but keep seeing people say Hertz is the way to go

@hollowlift - the ones you are looking for are the Hertz DCX 100.3. If you buy them at Crutchfield, they will supply you with the Metra connectors at no cost. You can use these speakers to replace the 2 front corner dash speakers and also the 2 speakers in the rear pods. I have the B&O system from the factory, so no crossovers/filters are needed. I know there are tons of other posts where members with the stock Ford system mention crossovers - I can’t offer much on that one. I didn’t change my center speaker - and have no plans of doing so. You should see a very noticeable difference with just replacing these 4 speakers. Let me know if I can help more.

I did the Hertz in all 4 corners (B&O system) with no base blockers (out with the old and in with the new). I did put some kill mat material in the rear pods. Very simple upgrade.

Try the 300hz. Much better IMO.

Same .... 4 inch infinity reference. Started with 600hz want down to 300hz. Reran the key setup MUCH BETTER, the kicker is set to filter below 80hz.

@hollowlift - also here is my post on upgrading speakers - with nothing else for the. B&O system - not sure if this will help you - B&O System Speaker Upgrade Options - Back to basics and keeping stock amplifiers and subwoofer
Amazing write up! Do you know if these Hertz speakers you recommend are the same ones in the Trail Seven plug-n-play bundle? https://trailseven.com/products/her...21-current-ford-bronco?variant=46354402902269

I am super unskilled in all this stuff and need something as idiot proof as possible.

@hollowlift - they sure look like it. I believe the DCX series Hertz are the only ones that have the electric orange speaker boots so it’s highly likely. I will say one thing - I would be very reluctant to put those 6.5 coaxial speakers in the lower front kick panels. I suspect you might lose some bass as the factory kick panel speakers are lower frequency mid bass and don’t really act as midrange. I don’t know this as fact, it’s just a hunch. You could end up putting them in and end up loving them (which would be great) I do like how they are providing the bigger rear pods. Those will likely be a nice improvement over the 4 inch pod speakers. Anything will be better than stock B&O……
Please report back if you pull the trigger. Seems like a nicely put together kit
