4 gallon Rotopax is on!
I know Rotopax are infamous in the offroad community, but for me this is exactly what I needed and it fits very well.
The big thing is, you have to vent them at least once a day if they are sitting out in the sun.
You also have to vent them for each 1,000 feet of elevation gain. Now that doesn't mean you need to stop if you are driving up a mountain, but when you do stop, you need to vent it.
It takes 5 seconds. Just loosen the cap a little.
So after doing multiple overnight hiking/ camping trips, our water usage was alarmingly high. I was bringing 5 gallons, plus two water bottles and a camel back. We'd exhaust the 5 gallons cooking 2-3 meals, plus other hygiene needs. A part of this was just not having a faucet and wasting water, especially washing dishes. Another was not having clean water and gray water in separate containers, meaning, I didn't want to put unfiltered creek water in the container. I did buy a collapsible sink, which will greatly help with dish washing.
I also switched to the Lone Rock water faucet with three, two gallon water Rotopax that are on the spare tire and Pak Rax. I rock a 3L camelback and my partner has a 2L camelback. Then add in water from the fridge, we are good to go!

Note: I do not drive around with the Rotopax on. I only put them on the Bronco to check my mount placement.
The biggest thing that I've learned in my years of overlanding, is organization, speed of packing to leave on the trip, unpacking while at the camp site, and packing up. Then comes interior cargo space. For me having the two door, interior cargo space is gold! Not having my five gallon jug inside the Bronco saves a huge amount of space.
Those are the Rotopax Lockable mounts. The rack is TrailRax Pak Rax.Who's mounting system did you use?
