Man, what are some of you people doing?
Driving them 😝

so why are all these windows breaking? weak glass? something about the height of the car?
Mostly flat/vertical windshields.
I can’t remember how many windshields I had to put in my old Wrangler due to the same thing

In April my fiancé was well behind a dump truck. They were carrying slag and was throwing it all over the road. They were in the middle lane and there was no missing it. I made sure she got a video of the rocks coming off the truck and the numbers off of the truck. I have glass coverage and called my insurance and they informed me it would count against me as a claim and if I filed one more (this would be the third glass claim) I would be up for non renewal. I contacted the trucking company and spoke with a manager. I sent in all the information and videos and they said to have it replaced on their dime.

We are moving to Arizona in August, Glad I bought the factory coverage, sounds like the roads there a mess.
Tons of construction here in Phoenix combined with very few rules on covering loads. The few rules there are are rarely enforced.

Ironically, only 1 was caused by a dump truck, another by what looked to be a landscaping trailer, and the 1st one, not sure as I was in heavy traffic on the 101 freeway.

I truly pity you moving here in August. Try to push to Oct if you can

Clear Plex windshield has saved multiple windshields for me. One rock (looked like a boulder flying at the wind @ 45) took a divot out of the protective film but glass still perfect.

it’s a must if you ask me

Still on the factory one after 3 years. But did have to fix a large chip from a rock when a semi hauling gravel cut me off a couple of years ago. Luckily I was able to fix it myself with a kit off amazon.

I have had 2 replaced, then i Installed THIS and its been 18 months and no chips way less bug splatter too..
I installed this 5 or six months ago. I was thinking of love bugs being deflected… a Florida insect that comes out twice a year. If you don’t get the smashed bugs off your paint within 48 hours, it eats into your paint.

Getting #4 put in tomorrow - month 28 of ownership. All of them broken on Freeways/Highways in the Phoenix metro by rocks. I am thankful for my $0 deductible glass coverage!

My insurance guy is starting to answer the phone with "Hi Mike, do you need another windshield today?"
The trick to broken windshields is following distance. I have zero broken windshields including a 2000 miles trip thru the mountain west.

Actually that's not entirely accurate. My last two previous vehicles had windshields chipped from oncoming traffic.

The windshield angle is very steep which makes the rock impact more directly, instead of ricocheting. Jeeps have the same issue for the same reason.

Just make sure your insurance covers it. 🤷‍♂️

Only had to replace mine after 2 years, with plenty of highway usage in the first 1.5. Now where I live has lower speeds, but also gravel roads so I think it's a wash.

I do, it's USAA, they use safelight and it's fully covered no deductible no insurance hit, but I really don't want a new car and have to replace the windshield day 1
