Hello all, I have a 2023 Bronco Black Diamond. I’ve had it a little over 5 months now and recently the AC has been acting strange. The first issue is a ringing/whistling noise that is pretty constant and gets louder and certain fan speeds. Now that it’s getting hotter out I’ve been trying to set the temp cooler and even at Max AC and circulation on the temperature doesn’t get very cold at all. System also makes a loud almost vacuum like sound when I initially start the car and then the sound dies out some. Looking for any guidance or similar issues before I waste $200 at the dealership to do a diagnostic and them tell nothing is wrong. Thanks!!!

It should still be under warranty why $200 diagnostics?
I was told my the dealership if they determine the issue has something to do with a part on the vehicle that has failed it would be covered otherwise I’d still have to pay for a diagnostic service if the issue is something else

Update on this…we got a gauge to check the Freon and it was very low. I hadn’t been using the AC much until recently now that the weather has been heating up so it wasn’t as obvious the AC was not getting cool until now.

It doesn’t appear that I have a leak, so not really sure what could cause it too be so low or if it was low to begin with.

No. This would all be covered under the 3/36. You must have had some new guy or idiot service writer. They are fast food workers in disguise.

That $200 racket is either an outrageous scam or a grossly uninformed service writer.

There should be no charge to look into an issue on a vehicle still under original warranty.

There are countless threads where the tech "could not replicate the issue" , but there was never a charge I recall reading about, or have I ever been presented with one when I have taken it in.

If they stick to their guns about charging you, run.

Run away from this dealer as far as you can and find one the will treat you properly.

I just had to add some to mine as well last week. Could be like the coolant and they just lowball it from the factory.
