Not sure where people are getting this. While there may be a symposer, ala FiST and FoST, There is no indication that what you describe will be the case.
The symposer ala fiesta is what I was referring to.

Am I correct in thinking that the Bronco will have a pretty sweet exhaust sound? Or is that only with the 2.7 engine.
nope, because the engines are turbo engines. Now if you recognize what a turbo motor sounds like and equates to in power and performance then yes it sounds sweet.

One of my rides is a turbo, and I think a built NA motor sounds sexy, but when I hear my turbo motor it’s nasty. And it has more hp than a 2.7 twin turbo Ford motor.

On a cold start I can hear my 3.5EB running, but once Im in and driving, when I come to a stop, many of times I have to look down to see if my tach is moving because its so quiet. Also note, that Ford pumps exhaust sound into the cab through the speakers when you hit the gas. I turned that off after I bought the truck, now I just hear the turbos.

Like someone said it's relative. For example some people think the Nissan VQ v6 sounds good with an exhaust, I personally think it sounds like someone farting into a vuvuzela.

I haven't been impressed with most v6 exhaust notes , except maybe the Alfa Giulia Quadrifoglio.

The 2.3 sound like a turbo 4, take that for what you will.

In either engine I'd rather hear turbo noise.

Pumps exhaust sound in through your speakers? I’ll have to look that one up.

I'll be keeping my stock exhaust, and hoping it's quiet. Best case spaghettios, the predominant noise I hear will be turbo whistle and tire rumble.

I think of you are interested in engine sound, the 2.3l is the way to go. It may sound like a tuner car , but the sound can be what I consider pleasing. 4,8,12 cylinders can all have that harmonic that seems to be pleasing to most of our ears. Ever hear a Viper at full boil? Farm tractor deluxe!!! I do prefer to hear the turbos over the exhaust these days and in the 2.7, with the windows down, you can hear it a bit. I assume a lot of the aftermarket tunes, intakes, down pipes add to that as well.

Guy on Saturday pulled into a parking lot while I was walking out to my truck. My comment to myself was "man, that f150 sounds like crap with that ricer exhaust." He ended up coming up to me to ask about my lift and tires and he stated he had a '19 f150 w/ the 3.5EB and mine is a '17 w/ the same engine. I'll take my stock exhaust even if you paid me $1k to install the exhaust he had.

Yep, I know Ford does this across many of their newer vehicles. Can be turned off using Forscan.

Best to just keep the engine as quiet as possible. On 4 or 6cyl I'll be keeping my stock exhaust.

I guess i can be serious for once. 4 and 6 cylinders can sound alright, 6 is a bit more exotic/sporty sounding and generally sound much better than the 4’s. I had one on my 2013 V6 camaro, it was okay until I cut off the resonators for more sound.? Then it was raspy and sounded like ass at WOT, I did not like that.

With that said, with exhaust you have to know when is when. Your 4/6 will NEVER sound like a V8, it will never rumble. Louder is not better, it’s worse, much, much, much worse. If you stick to designed exhausts by Borla, Flowmaster etc they take this into account and design something that will make the exhaust sound pleasant while being a bit louder than stock, that’s your sweet spot. I have heard V8’s that sound like crap too, people take those too far and think you can just cut it all off and it’s just a loud, obnoxious mess. Don’t cut your exhaust up, don’t cut off the mufflers, cats or resonators. If you’re not going to buy an exhaust system designed for this car, leave it alone, you will regret it. If you don’t, everyone else will because it will not sound good.

Too often people equate sound= Good. On 4/6 cylinder engines you go from stock to that obnoxious ass Civic or Integra you hear driving through your neighborhood at 10PM every Saturday night. The one that sounds like someone is farting into a tin can while lighting off a firecracker.

Please don’t be that guy. Or girl. I don’t care how great the 17 year old on YouTube says it sounds.

With that said, best bet is helmholtz style. Probably solo performance.
