If what you're saying is true, then it's a failed on Ford's part. The same rain sensor reference text is in all the user manuals from MY22 to MY24. I'm sure it's also in the MY21 manual. But I don't have a copy to verify.
Yep, I’m sure there are many other mistakes in there also.

It’s probably because they have a bunch of other appointments and are backed up with work. Either that, or whoever told you all day actually has no idea how long it actually takes.

Dont Be a Dummy like me, make sure before you spend 2 hours waiting at the dealership that they actually have the parts they need to do this fix. 2 hours of my life ill never get back. They acted like, not our fault have a nice day!

There shouldn’t be any parts, just a special programming box which Ford should’ve sent months ago.
Seems really stupid of them to schedule you without it.

Hey, just got the software update for the wipers and new plastic clips for the seatbelt done through mobile service. It's the way to go if you're close enough!
More preemptive since I haven't had to drive through much heavy rain yet and didn't experience any issues with 'em so far. We get heavy rain down here so staying ahead of the game.
Didn't take but less than 30 minutes for the service tech. Here's a photo of the box doing it's deal:
1000009726.webp

P.S. I have Forscan updates that were not affected like double honk turned off, tow package added and modded myself like stock, etc.
Thanks for this post! I have been avoiding the dealership for these recalls, seat belt latch (which I have no problem accessing) and wiper software. I view them much like a hospital and try to avoid until absolutely necessary. I do my own maintenance as lately, granted with other makes/models, I've experienced more issues once I left than before I went in. I've done quite a few Forscan mods and don't want them poking around or resetting. I didn't even know they offered this mobile service... This is the way!

Got it yesterday myself. Just need to find some time to schedule a visit...
If you call your local dealer they should have a mobile tech that can come out and do it for you at work or home. This is what I do for a living and most shops are pretty full.

Got my letter yesterday. Not certain what the software fix will do other than override the overheat shutdown process.

Would rather they had issued an update to true rain sensing. FORD is the only manufacturer that has to prevent part (motor) failure by compromising safety ( wipers not working)
It has nothing to do with the overheat shutdown. The system detects a dry condition and will run intermittently even when set in the continuous low or high mode. This reprogram will keep that from happening.

I had this done via mobile tech recently. I found a clip on my floor mat afterwards and ended up losing it. Does anyone know a part number or where to get a replacement clip?

Thanks to jcpyromechanic for posting the pic earlier.

Anyone have issues after wiper motor update? My wife's 2021 has no blinkers, highbeams and the display started acting up.
