So, I will not mention the name of the dealer. A friend referred me. I am not looking to bash them only rant and get feedback from others who may have had bad luck at the ford shop as well.

Fail #1

Was my very first time bringing my very first new vehicle to the manufacture dealership for service. Simple oil change and inspection. Six months after my purchase. what could go wrong? After I drove it for a day, I smelled oil burning from the engine compartment. Drove it home, opened the hood and found the oil cap sitting next to the hood latch. "seriously" I thought with anger! Cherry popped! ouch

(I will add a pic asap...it was a complete mess)

I called the service advisor and was told they would clean it up for me sorry for the trouble. Needless to say, I gave them a bad service review as I was angry for the stupid mistake. The next day I had to take the time to go back for something I could have done myself better (I did after I got the Bronco home) Pressure wash everything to hell but not clean up the oil left from the cap near the hood latch. I looked over what they had done and said goodbye. The advisor took note of my review and said they will delete it and give me a free future oil change to compensate. That was how I left it.

Until now!

Fail #2
I had a leak in my hard top around x-mas time and was told by same advisor, to wait until after the holidays. I waited and then made an appointment to drop the Bronco off. I drove to the Shop and left it with the dealer for an inspection that could last for a few days on the 9th of this month. I got a rental from them thinking it was only a few days. A few days went by, and I was told the tech was out so it would take longer. A week went by before I was told it failed inspection and they "could order the top (vs ordering it after looking at the cracks in it on the service drive) I was told the parts were on order and it would be completed on Thursday (yesterday). I was texted that the top did not come in but hopefully tomorrow (today). The top came in today. Too bad the tech is out sick again! Now I have to wait until Monday to see if the tech show up or not. Do they not have one other tech to handle a hard top? I could do it with some help.

Here is a post for pics...

Just wait when they tell you that the top came in but you have to wait for the glass guy to come swap the glass over from your old top. And then get told after that's done and ready to pick up, to have them realize the sound deadening was ordered, not installed, and you have to come back in another week.

It's a Ford dealer. Level set your expectation.

I'm new to all this! Do all manufacture dealers act this way?

The long waits are relatively normal post COVID...for the last couple of years, it has taken weeks or months to get the required components to fix. The lube dude leaving the cap off seems to be an anomoly....it was placed near the latch to keep it in view and to help remind the dude to put it back,

Fail #1 is a common problem and exactly why do all my own basic maintenance. You're not getting a trained tech to change your oil at most dealers or jiffy lubes.

As for #2 I don't see much of an issue in light of the current climate. They're taking care of the problem and have provided you with a loaner. Unfortunately wait times have increased due to a shortage of techs and supply issues. It's not just a Ford problem. My GMC was diagnosed in August, awaiting parts until December and they were finally able to get it back in last week. They still have the truck, but the town has been pretty much shut down all week due to a couple winter storms. It sucks waiting, but it sounds like they're taking better care of you than many I've seen reported on here.

I can say I haven’t had a good experience at a dealer (any) since Covid.

Before Covid my ford dealer was white glove and top notch

Now I don’t trust them to check my oil. And anything that goes through them takes double the time at double the cost (at least)

I guess they need to put a shop towel under it to not make a mess and would see the colored towel to remind them.

Thanks for the feedback...I am most upset because I had plans for the Bronco this weekend!

I've had only 2 dealer experiences with my 2021 Badlands in the 2+ years and 17K miles I've owned it. Both were for the annual safety inspection required by the state of NH.
The most recent inspection in early January 2024 uncovered a weeping/leaking rear output shaft seal on the transfer case.
Techs also confirmed PN of rear camera that is on a safety recall so they could order the correct replacement camera.
Service advisor told me parts will need to be ordered and in-house before an appointment would be scheduled.
Three days later I got the call that parts were in and I could have an service appointment as soon as two days later-basically one week after the issue was initially discovered.
They asked if I wanted to schedule a loner vehicle or a ride back home - I declined both.
Service advisor(Matt) of Londonderry Ford called me back to tell me they would do valet service- picking up the car at my house and returning it to me after the service was completed.

From honoring the sticker price 2+ years ago when ADM was all the rage to exceptional service I have nothing but praise and respect for the folks at Londonderry Ford.

I did my own repairs or friends help out...paid cash for those cars. Never owned a new car.

Man, I can tell you that Ford and their dealers don't really care much about their customers. I've had already two regrettable situations. First one was with my manual transmission. I took it in last March, they said it qualified for the TSB to replace the sychronizers but they didn't have the parts and they were on forever backorder. Fast forward August, I see posts that mentioned they are in on this forum. I check, oh yes, they are, but the dealer never called me to tell me🤷‍♂️. I drop the Bronco off after making an appointment. I am told one week, okay. 6 days go by and they call me and tell me it doesn't meet the level of the TSB because they can't hear the noise....well, it didn't fix itself. So I drive to the dealer, take a ride with the tech and he does hear it, thank goodness. They say give us another few days, which turns into 3 weeks and 2 days.

Second issue, still on-going. The Bronco has a failure to start issue and a brake issue, the vehicle freefalls down a hill without any brakes until I hit a tree. There is a Powertrain Malfunction code, so I call Ford and they say take it to the dealer. It has now been there for exactly 2 months today without any real word on what caused that issue and how they can fix it and whether they will fix any of the damage caused by the malfunction. I never expected them to fix it overnight or anything, but I would have figured something would have been done by now. I have called the dealership numerous times and I have called Ford at least a couple times and really I think their plan to to hope I give up hope and go away. In the meantime, I've seen several others posts about brake failures and engines suddenly shutting off as well. If I could go back to August of 2022 and not buy my Bronco, I would. I like Fords and waited until the Bronco came out to buy a cool offroad vehicle, but Ford did not test the vehicle properly and after the fact, they don't really care about their customers either. I hope management at Ford changes soon and fixes these issues. Maybe Jim Farley ought to spend more time at making Ford better and not racing his cars as much. I feel like his brother Chris Farley (RIP) would run the company better.

Where do I start?

1st dealer, Tonkin in Aloha OR had mine for 8 wks and never fixed my electrical issues. They replaced the alternator, (supposedly) the battery and wanted to replace the ecm. I stopped them at that point and took the vehicle back. My issue was my accessories apparently but couldn’t they could never prove it. I took it home and started looking for a parasitic draw. I’d have to keep the battery tended or jump the car every other day.

2nd dealer, Lasco in Fenton, MI had my vehicle for 3 days and immediately told me it was my accessories also. I said it’s not you’re incompetent and I’m coming to get it now. They then wanted me to pay close to $400 for troubleshooting. I laughed and said no effing way. I said I’d like to talk to the tech and how he came to this conclusion and what accessory it was that’s the issue. He left for the day. Asked for the documentation but he didn’t document anything. So I said I’m not paying and give me the key. Manager came over and finally waiver the fee but said state of MI requires the customer to pay $20 for a disposal fee. I ask, what in the fvck did they dispose of. Again no answer could be given. Never paid that either.

Dealer # 3, Szott in Holly MI has me scheduled to come in since mid September and still nothing. In that time I did get an oil change there with a 5 tire rotation. I will mark my wheels as I don’t trust anyone anymore. They did do the rotation correctly, but they never adjusted the psi in any of the tires especially the spare as it was 5psi different. Oil was dribbled all over, fluids not topped off and two days later as I was washing it I noticed a lug nut missing. So I grabbed a torque stick and checked. Most nuts were under a 100 and others were well above.

Oh I did find my issue without the help of my friendly neighborhood dealer. The battery never got replaced and it was a bad one. After I trusted dealer 1 put in the battery like they said. This was after looking at most harness plugs, checking load on fuses and all my accessories multiple times and with different methods.

So here’s a big fvck you to Ford dealers around the world🖕🏼🖕🏼

Well, the list is getting longer and longer with FORD.. they are “dropping the ball” at every opportunity.. You tell them.. they do nothing about it.. YOU have a problem, they have some problem with solving your problem. FoRD Motor Company… If I had the money tomorrow, I would buy you out.. Something in FORD company is NOT WORKING! Pray I don’t get the money FORD!!!!!
