We're getting our first snow of the year and that got me thinking, what setting is everyone using for snow and ice?

Slippery Mode, 4x4, 4A ect.

I don't really use the GOAT modes for anything. If I had 4A I'd just set it and forget it, but I don't (don't really miss it to be honest). If there is snow on the road, I'll go into 4H. If I get hung up, locker (or at least I did in the F150, hope to have the locker on my Bronco in next weekend). I've only ever needed 4L in snow a couple of times, and that's steep hills and / or pulling someone out of the ditch.

Not that difficult to figure out. Either use the 4A if you have the advance transfer case or put it in 4H if you dont. Tires are what play a huge role in how your bronco performs in the snow.

4A. Set it and forget it, but the maintained road can be dry and then I turn into my road and 4A is the minimum for getting up it. Have not needed to lock in anything so far, but better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it...

I find Slippery Mode works well. 4A and it feathers the throttle response and adjusts shift points so you don't break a tire loose. I live at 8600 feet in Colorado. We currently have about 2 feet of snow on the ground. The plowed roads have a solid coating of ice and packed snow. It's 11 miles of winding mountain road to get to a better maintained highway. The Bronco handles it awesome in Slippery Mode.

I really wish I had 4A living in Minnesota but I don’t…

2H unless it warrants 4H and switch in and out of the two based on speed and road conditions.

I love driving in unplowed snow (not on the freeway), yeah takes longer to get to your destination but it makes the mundane interesting.

Have Badlands. Been using Slippery mode. Have the G.O.A.T. modes - may as well use them lol. So far I'm impressed with my 2dr BL's composure on slippery winter conditions.
