maximizing my smiles per gallon makes me drive slow.
This. It’s like a game for me. I always have my eye on the MPG and try to keep it 18.0 or higher (with SAS). I also look at that screen which shows me realtime MPG, feels good when you coast and the bar goes all the way up to 40mpg+.

Seems like I'm always zooming past Bronco's out here in Cali. On the freeway, Bronco's are usually in the slow lane, or in the middle lane driving below the speed limit. On the street, it seems like they're all in Eco mode, just trailing behind everyone. If I didn't own one, I'd think they were underpowered and slow.

This isn't me driving fast either. Between the freeway and street, I'm usually at 65-75/35-45.
I’ll take the generalization out of respect. With me that’s a negative ghost rider! We fly or we take the bus. BD ‘23 3,500 miles and god willing just getting started. Peace.

I drive the speed limit for long trips (i.e. Phoenix) otherwise, I drive it like I drove my Mustang "enthusiastically"

Lets say the limit is 65 and I feel the need to drive 85. You'd need to keep that 20mph differential for 23 miles to save a grand total of 5 minutes. If your commute has such a stretch you can average 20mph over the next slowest guy, over 3 weeks (~500miles) you'd save 1.5 hours of a day if you didn't manage to die in a fiery wreck.

But wait time is money... you're right it is! Best I can tell is I get ~19-20mpg around 65mph and at absolute best 12-15mpg at 85mph. For easy math lets say a 5-6mpg differential.

This daring trek 20mph faster than everyone costs you an additional 10.7g of fuel over 500 miles and at 2.89/g is about and extra $30, aka you need to be making ~$60k a year to break even on your hour saved

Its much more peaceful if I truly require that 5 minutes to simply leave 5 minutes earlier I gain nothing being the faster vehicle.

Cue me doing 20 over in 8" of snow this morning 🤭

It's the same reason there's so many pavement princesses....because a lot of them were bought by people who can't drive just so they could have the latest trendy item to post on tiktok or sit in the school pick-up line.
Stop…congrats to you for driving 20min over in snow conditions. You want a reward for that? The arrogance of everyone acting like they drive their Bronco the way it was intended and everyone else is a pavement princess is so annoying. Why are you worri

Whats the rush? I went from having a tuned 2020 Mustang GT PP2 to my Bronco as I no longer felt the need for speed thing. I had a few jeeps prior and kinda knew what I was getting into going back to a capable vehicle. I feel weird driving fast in Jeeps and Broncos.

lol. Funny you should ask. I have noticed I drive considerably slower in my Bronco. I’ve always been a bit of a lead foot. Always in a hurry to get somewhere. I’ve got a pile of speeding tickets over the years to prove it. But either I’ve crossed some invisible line into old age, or there’s just something pleasant about putting along in my Bronco. It’s kind of my happy place, and when I drive it, I don’t really care to hurry. That and my gas mileage is notably improved if I stay at or a little above the speed limit.
Likely not related to you aging, well, maybe not. Likely more to the fact that a Bronco is a brick shaped off-roader. Why in the hell would you want to drive a brick with big tires and smallish brakes fast? It’s sort of dumb to, even though I have the 2.7.

Coming back from camping yesterday up in Rocky Bottom, SC rolling down terrible I-85, I looked down twice and was doing over 80 mph to get past 18 wheelers. I was shocked and couldn’t wait to get over to the right and slow back down.

Wanting to drive this thing fast is likely for those who’ve never owned a true sports car; well I have and they were spec’d out to go fast, corner and stop quickly with the best ultra high performance summer rubber.

So, with that experience, this Bronco is for moving slowly. Get the other horsey Ford if you want to speed.

OP‘s troll thread I swear…..

I have a radar detector in all my vehicles except the Bronco. Don’t need it, don’t want it. I like the Hammer lane and just right of the Hammer lane on a major freeway, but in the Bronco, I like to cruz’. Just enjoy the ride. Bought for another reason than speed and I know it every time. Get in it. My plaid is faster than 99.9 percent of those on the road around me, if not all of them and it is plenty capable of taking me straight to jail.

Merry Christmas!

Let’s see if I remember the expression correctly:

Everyone who drives slower than you is an idiot; everyone who drives faster than you is a moron.

I speed my ass off. Part of that has to do with the fact that I can't really feel the speed in this thing like I do in my Mustang. I have no idea how fast I'm going in my Bronco without looking at the speedometer.

This is me, 100% and I've never understood why either. Any other vehicle I drive, I seem to go fast. My Bronco, just like my Jeep back in the day, makes me want to just drive relaxed and enjoy the drive without a care in the world for people wanting to fly by. Honestly, that feeling is one of the main reasons I purchased a Bronco. I missed that "happy place" I had over a decade ago with the Jeep.

Its usually jeeps that are laid back cigarettes (if you catch my drift).

Im a speed devil, got no patience for slowmo’s, and since I got my Morimoto headlights, everyone just gets outta my way to begin with.

they really need to teach people to drive, no one knows how to anymore, like theyre gonna die if they actually accelerate instead of coast
So you're a "speed devil" who has lights that make everyone just get outta your way, demanding that they (whoever they are) need to teach people to drive? You live in NJ, so your attitude seems appropriate and pretty arrogant.

On San Diego freeways, almost every Bronco I see is in the fast lane. Must be the beautiful weather!🌞

Everybody driving slower than me is an idiot.
Everybody driving faster than me is a maniac.

But my blood gets angriest when I have cruise set and another car starts yo-yoing next to me on the highway. Pass me or don't, but don't hover in my blindspot when I was driving faster than you 30 seconds ago.
