Everyone on here seems so concerned with the Bronco reliability.... I think it is an echo chamber.

The Bronco did not make the Consumer reports 10 worst list but 3 different Jeeps did.

1) Wrangler
2) Grand Cherokee
5) Grand Cherokee L
6) Rivian R1T

caveat: Have not read the article... just saw a post about it......

A) Consumer Reports hates Jeep. They consistently rate them terribly.

B) The Rubicon has been better built and higher quality by far. Here is my Pro/Con Sheet

22 Bronco
+ Bigger and Roomier
+ Better steering
+ Larger Infotainment screen
+ 35s stock!
+ 360 camera
+ Much larger cargo access door

21 Rubicon 4xe
+ Better interior materials
+ Better laid out controls
+ Better reliability in 2 years
+ Rear AC Vents!
+ Better stock tires
+ hard top is better quality
+ Framed doors don't rattle like hell every time you open them
+ Soft top fits better and does not have wave windows
+ Quieter interior

Context you’re missing: Bronco has been out for 2 going on 3 years. With no comparable iterations in the last 20 years. Meanwhile, Wrangler has 6 years in the current generation, and 3 previous consecutive generations to iron things out. Yet they still have mediocre quality. That’s really the bottom line in the jeep/bronco argument.

It’s what happens when Fiat and Peugeot build a car together (Stellantis).

Well is it possible that the context you seem to be skipping past is that this is not based on consumer reports opinion of the vehicle but on consumer complaints? I am missing the part of where were the complaints lodged.... To whom and what qualifies....

I am completely agreeing with your original post. I believe the negativity about bronco reliability is an echo chamber as well, and the people complaining about it and comparing to Jeep are totally lacking in context. Which is what I was addressing to the second poster… that the bronco is brand new, of course it’s gonna have some kinks. But the wrangler has been around for a bit and still has numerous quality issues. They are very different. So to make a comparison between the two is ignorant of the facts. I think the people complaining about bronco reliability/issues were expecting this perfectly refined driving machine. But it’s not an e class Mercedes, it’s a mass manufactured on/off road vehicle in its first generation. Some problems are totally realized, and should not be happening. But the majority of it is just overblown.

Consumer reports is biased against Jeep. But for good measure.

I like both vehicles and I’m not sure how consumer reports figures their stats out. There are a kazillion JLs on the road vs the far smaller number of Broncos out there. Wouldn’t the number of issues be skewed to show Jeep is worse based on number of vehicles sold?
Or does consumer reports take all that into account?

And, if wranglers really sucked that bad…would there be a kazillion of them sold and driving around the roads just fine? 🤔

+ Soft top fits better and does not have wave windows

21 Rubicon 4xe
+ Better interior materials - I don't agree,
+ Better laid out controls - Definitely not, Bronco is far superior
+ Better reliability in 2 years - Not a Chance!
+ Rear AC Vents! - Ok, I don't care! lol
+ Better stock tires - No, Territory's are better than BFG's!
+ hard top is better quality - You like the White POS?
+ Framed doors don't rattle like hell every time you open them - Maybe, but we have Half Doors Standard.
+ Soft top fits better and does not have wave windows - Another who cares!
+ Quieter interior - Since when, my Bronco is quieter than my Wranglers
You didn't mention the weight of the 4XE and it's battery issues!

You obviously have a bias. I get it, you want to justify your purchase. I have both, and I can be honest about them.

Interior - The materials in my Rubicon's interior are much nicer looking and more durable. The plastics in my Bronco look like they have been through a war already.

Reliability - Jeep has zero warranty issues. Bronco has had about 5, with several more TSBs and recalls that I have not yet done. Rattling tailgates, wiper motors, etc.

Tires - Are you seriously saying the Territories are better than BFGs? I am not sure how to even respond to that.

- hard top - I have the standard black one. It's flawless, works great, doesn't leak, no cosmetic issues, isn't made of cardboard....

- Frameless doors - They are an option on the Jeep, and bronco they are the only option. Which would be fine if the design from Ford wasn't bad and the windows properly dropped when opening the doors.

4xe battery issues - 22k miles, zero issues from the battery or Hybrid system. Works exactly as advertised for me.

Having owned several Jeeps for long periods of time. I had one JK that was bought new and the biggest POS ever and a used JK that went well beyond 225k and I would have trusted that little thing to hold up just fine. My Bronco, in the two years I have owned it, has been "OK." It never left me stranded but it sure has had some very annoying and odd issues.

Since other have, I will add my opinion to the mix.

07 JK and 21 Bronco:

+ Better interior materials - The Bronco interior materials are, at best, on par with the JK
+ Better laid out controls - split - the Bronco has more screen interfaces, which is fine, when it works - The JK was simple and intuitive and basic
+ Better reliability in 2 years - split - the Bronco has never left me stranded but it does have odd and annoying issues - The JK only left me on the side of the road once requiring a tow when I blew a tire and my tie iron literally bent trying to remove the lugs this was over a decade
+ Rear AC Vents! - neither had them, but would be great to have!
+ Better stock tires - I have/had A/T's on both and they are both just fine - the less interference from the traction control was better on the JK IMHO
+ hard top is better quality - who buys a stupid hard top? What a pain for either car (and yes the white top looks cool depending on the model Bronco)
+ Framed doors don't rattle like hell every time you open them - JK wins this round, framed doors are preferred, wind noise is ok, but Ford can't get the door open/auto window control right
+ Soft top fits better and does not have wave windows - I don't care about the "wavy" windows, but this is another spilt - both are easy to put down and up and generally quiet
+ Quieter interior - JK wins this one - the Bronco has odd creaks and moans and nosier engine and more road/wind noise (A/T tires nothing nobby)

I 1000% agree with your summation of pros for the Jeep! I have a Braptor and the wife has a New Outerbanks, but my 2020 Rubicon is better in exactly the way "ramblinwreck" surmised! I love all 3 either way.....each has it's Pros and Cons........

I would have to disagree with a couple of your points. A good friend that I wheel with has a 2022 Rubi and the pro's of the Bronco include:
+way more comfortable seats
+much better on road vehicle manners, especially at higher speed.
+mirrors that stay on the vehicle when the doors come off.
+cleaner dash layout
+much better laid out controls
+accessory switches
+better styling

The cons of the Rubi that you overlooked:
+death wobble
+terrible seats over long distances
+badly positioned window switches
+removable doors take up take up considerable more storage space due to window frames.
+less cargo space
+worse interior features
+NHTSA rates the Rubi worse in frontal and roll over collisions

I should also state the Rubi gets better gas mileage.

Not at all, it actually sounds like you are trying to justify your mistake! lol

-The location of the accessories look like they were added after the fact in a Jeep. Locker switch is in a bad spot, same with aux switches and lets not forget about that tiny screen, only to be widened to no real improvement in the latest redesign. (which also looks stuck on ) The only complaint might be the side panels, but I wouldn't want anything plush. The seats are worlds better in the Bronco and so much more comfortable.

-No response necessary, test them, you will find out quick enough, especially in snow and ice!

-Jeep/AMC/Chrysler/Fiat/Stellantis have NEVER been known for reliability and still aren't.

-Your "Black" hardtop is heavy and has an ugly white interior that will always look dirty and is hard to clean. I prefer the darker interior, but not that much difference, just my preference.

-My Bronco's doors function as they should, sure they rattle a bit when partly down, just like all frameless doors through history. (Framed doors historically are kind of entry level.) I like the final products look and function much more than the archaic doors on the Jeep. Personal preference I suppose.

-I'd check with Jeep, your 4XE most likely has or will have a recall!
