Im waiting on a new rear driveline, ive gone through my 2nd upper seal (one where the cv bolts to tcase). This one with less than 20 miles on it the boot tore.

Question is, I have a small vibration at low speeds due to this, but at highway speeds its fine. How long can I safely drive on it, or will it just get worse and worse? Im kind of in a bind and need to go about 300 miles and need to take it, or figure out another way.....

How bad is it leaking? Moist no drips? No problem. Leaving puddles? I wouldn't travel far.
Vibration could be a number of things though.

So its the boot, not the seal in the transfer case. Is it the drive shaft boot? Hard to say, might be a bad CV issue causing the vibrations, really hard to tell without seeing it.

I would push the issue of Ford replacing it & not drive it to avoid the "well you shouldn't have driven it like that, so now it caused this or that" response.
I'm thinking there should be more grease in those bearings than I can see.

First one was at stock, 2nd one went on after the lift. I had noticed the tear when I put the lift on. Its only a 2" collar lift. That one lasted a few miles.

Same issue here. Noticed a grease spot on the rear driver side inner fender liner. Traced it to the boot on the front CV joint of the rear driveshaft into the transfer case. ~12k miles. Never been off road. Stock height, no lift.

Had the dealer check mine this morning. Will be replaced under warranty. $1000+ for the part if not under-warranty.

That’s 20%+ over retail.
You can get one online for $600
Yep. Just what they told me when asked. I have an extended warranty. Once that is up in 4-ish years, aftermarket support should be that much better.
