I just watched the video about replacing the sunglass holder with the Aux switches. I have th eAux switches already and want to drop just the panel so I can support the front side to mount an iPad.

So my question has anyone removed just the center over head console? How many panels need to come off to get to it. Is there a video or instructions someplace I can take a look at.

Thanks

Someone posted a video here more than several months ago detailing the aux switche install. Search function here on the forum isn't great, try a google search.

There are four screws to remove, one under each sun visor mount (hinge and holder each side). Once those are out you should be able to pull down on the console and it should pop out. You'll then see what else you may need to dismantle depending how far you're going.

Edit: the hinges are 7 or 8mm, the holders are a torx that is a PITA.

I looked at that video (I posted it a few month ago). I figured there had to be an easier way then take all the trim off the A pillar.

Thanks

Thanks I was hoping it was that simple. I want to look at the front side when looking at it and may figure out a support to hang an iPad mini there. I figure it will not block the windshield there and I won't have to loose my center console room.

I might try digging into it the week.
