I love Kai's videos. He hypothesizes without any preconceived conclusion; tests; and let's the data driven results prove/disprove the hypothesis. It is refreshing. One of his recent videos compared wide vs. narrow tires. The results run counter to the group-think.

Exactly! While in HS I wheeled alot. I couldn't afford big tires and loved the look of "Pizza Cutters." I always "thought" they did better offroad and he vindicated my thoughts! 😁 That's why I have 35x10.50's...

I'm in a bit of a quandary as I was intending on going with the Mickey T's 255/85 Baja Boss for my next set. But I just won a set of General Grabbers (any tire/size). The X3's don't come in a "pizza cutter" width.

Well dang! Get the most expensive set, sell them then buy the Baja Boss in the 35-10.50 flavor! 🀣 That was the tire I was going to buy at the time but couldn't find them in stock anywhere. πŸ˜” Pretty happy with the Kenda Klevers though...

Yeah, I could opt for the X3's in 37's. Sell the set when it arrives and parlay that into the MT's.

Or Put the X3's on the one Bronco and the Baja Boss's on another.

Went into Arches National Park today. Did the 4 wheel drive sand trail, which goes from just south of tower arch to almost Balancing Rock. Then I had to take the poser shot off the pavement.

Picked up the Mabett rear light, but have not installed yet.

LOTS of research! Going to pull the trigger on a hard top, and a rear carrier. Been looking at all the options out there, and what is and what is not, what is practical and what is not.

Looking at the DV8 rear tire carrier and the turn-off road solution. For the hard top, the Armadillo design has peek my interest. I like the design and the concept. I also like that their designers get back to me in a timely manner and answer all my questions HONESTLY.

I'll update this soon.

I have wanted a Bronco since the first day they released the teaser. I built a million on build and price like everyone else.
I was finally in the position to buy one Last week. Ive had it for 4 days.
today I installed front mud flaps from mabett. That’s the extent of what I have done so far… oh and I put on the bushwacker bug deflector.
I need side steps.

The video focuses on a pretty narrow view of what makes a good tire. Also, one of my key take-aways is that brand+model (i.e. largely sidewall stiffness) is equal to or even more important than width. Most importantly what scenarios does this particular test not address:?
  1. On road performance (most of us don't have dedicated off road rigs)
  2. Performance for a wide variety of terrain: snow/ice, wet, sand, mud
  3. Cornering (any terrain)
  4. Off road NVH (noise, vibration and harshness)
  5. Crawling while on traction limit (i.e. with spin)

Installed the Ford Performance Hood Struts today. Boy, what a difference, both in the opening of the Hood, but not having the Hood Support in the way when working on the engine.
