Rear gate opening on auto lock

Saturday the rear gate on my 2022 Bronco started opening every time the doors locked. I've figured out a workaround (I can start the engine, leave the driver door open, get out open the rear gate, press lock on my fob, close the gate, get in bronco and drive) but it's a nuisance.

Has anyone else encountered this? Is it more likely an electronic issue or a mechanical issue? Am I just going to need to schedule an appointment with my dealer?

Gosh wouldn't more cupholders be nice?!? But I could do without this tailgate "feature".

Well that's pretty strange. I'm really not sure how the lock actuates but it seems that it is some how popping the latch.

Maybe the latch isn't fully catching. Have you tried adjusting the rubber bump stop above the latch?

Take it to the dealer. Never heard of anything like that but maybe somehow the unlock mechanism is misaligned and somehow moving the mechanism that opens the door.

I took it to the dealer and they eventually replaced the latch mechanism. They said Ford asked for my faulty one to be sent for review. Sorry you're having this issue - hopefully you're under warranty.
