Not true. So many false claims in this thread.

I'm paying ADM on my vehicle and I could flip it immediately for a handsome profit.

I said the same, but "never say never"...

Like beauty, need is in the eye of the beholder (buyer).

The point is there is no need to pay a ADM in the first place. The Bornco is a Mass made common/ Not Limited car.

I'm glad I paid $7k msrp on my 2023 Wildtrak. With the Price Pro as well as the dealer discount off MSRP.

A wonderful floor routine of mental gymnastics leading up to paying of an idiotic dealer markup is still stupid. Even if you feel you stuck the landing... with your face.
Well everyone is entitled to an opinion. Fortunately in this case there are not facts on this, only opinions. I'm not appreciating the labels or insinuations of idiotic/stupid.

My "mental gymnastics" are very carefully considered, as are all of my finances and investing. I will be able to sell my current 2016 4Runner for about $3k less than I paid. Even back then we had scarcity issues and I had to purchase it out of state, slightly used and at new price. Vehicles nearly always amount to "throwing money out the window" but an effective ADM in this case will be essentially recouped.

I'll repeat this with my Raptor.

Lastly, how about a friendly water that my, entirely self made finances are way better than yours? I'd call this the opposite of idiotic or stupid.

Nope, not the same at all.

1. The dealer owns the vehicle when they sell, a realtor doesn't.
2. Realtors often get into the market and buy properties they believe are undervalued. Same as flippers. Regardless, they take the risk and speak with their investment $. This is more like an ADM auto analogy.
Symantecs, the dealer is a flipper/middle-man, yes they "own" the vehicle but they want it gone just as quickly as a realtor to make their cut without putting anymore labor in it than necessary. Issue is that the dealer should at least half-ass be following MSRP and that's what the customer expects to see and go from there.

If you want to flip go ahead, if you want to pay ADM go ahead but you're not going to talk me out of believing that dealers are doing this out of greed based on the circumstances, it's price gouging 100%! This is no different than raising the price of gas or a loaf of bread in a hurricane!

swamp, the Raptor is a bit different. Special editions or limited runs have almost always had a mark up going back for over 30 years.

However, ADM for just a plain ole Bronco is silly.

A Raptor has a totally different buyer base that includes NFL, MLB, rockers, rappers, other rich people, etc. They’ll buy through a broker if nothing else and have the means to pay whatever.

A Shelby or whatnot may often have the same situation.

Completely disagree. It's not symantics. It's about ownership and financial risk.

For informational purposes, I love wheeling and will definitely not flip my truck. That said I'm OK with flippers. I don't like the consequences but I like free markets.

Furthermore ADMs on vehicles is not price gouging, period, fact. It's a bit of greed sure (combined with a free market) but those are not the same. It's NOTHING like essential commodities post natural disaster. There are laws that define and prevent such price gouging.... (insert shaking head emoji).

You don't have to like it, this is still a free country. And I will stand by my statement. Paying a mark up is absolutely stupid. And is an utter and complete waste of money. If you feel you can piss away that money on a toy. Then say so. Don't do the song and dance to make yourself feel better or think you look better to others.

And you really should rethink you last line. There is no bigger clue that someone has absolutely no clue how to handle their own money than bragging on the internet on how rich they are.

Yes, Raptor is a bit different, but in essence, due to COVID and supply chain problems (along with some Ford incompetence...), Bronco demand, across the product line, outstrips capacity. Hence ADM, period.

Market is adjusting right now for all models in favor of the consumer.

Lastly, I think there are also tons of genuine enthusiasts, many stretching their budgets to get a Raptor.

Hey bud, you started the ad hominem entirely. I am trying hard (am) to avoid that, yet still have a discussion. Those attacks/insulations, which you continue, are largely related to financial matters. That very naturally led me to question or compare ours. If your so justified in knowing (which you can't) my motives and situation and pejoratively labeling them, I have every right to compare the life long entirety of our choices in that domain, without "bragging online" that I'm rich, which I didn't.

Ugh

America isn't a true free market, but really enjoyed your mental gymnastics in the thread.

You've clearly done very well financially and that's great but you're still an idiot for paying ADM. You want what you want, and you're willing to pay a premium to get it when you want it (now).

You got finessed, just take the L and stop trying to justify it by saying you like "free markets".

Got it, you have no idea what you are even talking about. We know.

Paying dealer mark up = stupid.
Mental gymnastics to make yourself feel better = stupid.
Crying to the internet about feeling bad = silly.
Owning up to yourself that you are ok pissing away money = respectable on being honest, stupid on paying a dealer markup.
Dealer finding suckers to pay a markup = good for them on finding them.
2 + 2 = 4

Based on us getting 0 allocation for '24, Ford still trying to get all of Granger's orders caught up and dealers in my area getting high trim WTs and BLs, desirable inventory is still going to be limited thus allowing those that have to charge how they see fit. Yes, you either pay it or you don't but there are tons of folks out there with disposable income or can't walk away for one reason or the other. If you consolidate inventory to fewer dealers rather than spread it out, it's just a matter of who has what you want, how much they want to make and how bad you want it.

Flipping is fine but if you're paying ADM and sales tax, I don't see how you're going to realize any profit since you're already in it way over market. Unless you set a non negotiable sale price you'll be dealing with the same price dickering and tire kicking that's part of the business.

Can you please stop the immature name calling?

Can you name a more free market than the US?

I have/had the same opinion about ADMs forever, whether they affect me or not.

I know it's not long relative to many folks, but by the time I take delivery it will be 10 months. Is that enough wait and importantly uncertainty to be "OK" in your book? I actually don't care, but it seems relevant.

Did I get finessed or plan well not that MSRP minus my MSRP is 2.5 times higher than my ADM? How can you spout such presumptive nonsense without any of the facts?

Not quite sure how you think your opinions are facts.

And again name calling doesn't make you look good nor make you correct.

Please, let's compare the sum of our lifetime achievements around intelligence, our decisions and financial decisions. Not sure how else you want to measure stupidity or the opposite. I suppose you could choose another metric such as happiness, but that's another major thing I'll get from my truck and getting that a bit sooner definitely has value to me.

Kid, you're not worth the wear and tear on my keyboard. I will take the better part of valor and just bow out. You can pole vault on the uneven bars from the pummel horse all you want to feel better about yourself and your stupid choice to pay a dealer mark up. I'm out. You're crying about your lack of achievements is just swell. You're swell. You're money being pissed away is swell. Your complete lack of understanding is swell. And my block of you is swell.

Perfect. Neither I (nor the rest of the community here) need the holier than thou, insult hurling folks here such as you.

Nice attempt at a legitimate debate/discussion (not). Adios.
