Thanks. Does having a 4 door make any of this easier lol?
I’m not sure. I think there’s more videos with 4drs to watch. That’s the difference for me

All speakers in (4” infinity front and back) and kicker sub/fusion amp are also in. Forscan update is next and from what i can tell my only forscan change is simply telling the ACM there’s a sub. Looks like 1 change in forscan and I’m done.

Am i missing something?

No Forscan adjustments needed for the other speakers other than the sub?

That’s my understanding. If I changed the pods in the rear to larger speakers, then there’s other changes to make. But since I kept them 4” there’s nothing to change with them.

It’s just the sub activation.

For awhile i was getting really confused thinking i had to make a bunch of forscan changes, but that’s not the case from what i can tell.

Thanks for verifying this thought process.

Let us know how it sounds. I am doing the same, just swapping out the 4” speakers and the Fusion/Kicker combo.

While you're at it you might want to consider some non-audio tweaks. When I turned on my sub I also turned off double honk and turned on bambi mode.

I installed the Kicker sub/Fusion amp today. While I was at it I went ahead and installed some sound deadening panels, since I had it pulled apart. I had previously added all new Kicker speakers, including larger rears in Mabett pods. Forscan used to turn off the stock EQ, and change rear speaker size + sub.

At this point I think I am satisfied with the sound. The Kicker is not a big sub (6.75"). It does not shake the windows of houses when I drive down the street. But, I honestly was not looking for that. I know some have opted to slightly modify the sub housing Ford provided in the 2023 Broncos to use an 8" sub. I was tempted, but had some concerns about the internal size of the sub housing being enough for a bigger sub (not based on any actual knowledge). I wanted depth of sound and to 'feel' the thump in my chest a little bit. Mission accomplished (not a lot of chest thump, though). The rest of the Kickers add considerable clarity and fidelity over the stock system.

As for the sound deadening material - Not sure how much it helps yet. I have only circled the block so far, so I have not formed an opinion yet. It was easy to apply. I went with the cheap, Amazon version of the stuff... it is butyl based, so should be similar to the more expensive stuff.

The picture I took of the installed Kicker/Fusion was when I was testing it, prior to installing all the sound deadening. I forgot to take another picture after reinstalling it. After taking pictures, I also decided to add a little bit more of the sound deadening material in the section where the jack tools are located.

Looks good. How hard was it removing the panels? Any clips break? Any tips or tricks?

Just got done doing this also, I ordered the extra clips from Amazon. A majority of them stayed in the frame and had to be removed but the trim panel tools make easy work of that. I did break one clip but may have gone easier if I didn’t have the insurance of the extra clips. It’s a relatively straight forward job follow the excellent videos from @RagnarKon and the one from buckleup buttercup and you will have all the info you need. Takes about an hour so nothing crazy

There is definitely some pucker factor in removing the necessary panels. I watched this video 2-3 times (start at 7 minute mark)
It gave me confidence to give it a shot. I did not break any clips. There are a few different clip types used - thought I broke one, but it was just a different type that separates in the middle. I just took it slow, and tried to apply pressure as close to the clips as I could get. The video does a nice job describing the tricky parts.

For the limited amount of money I’ve spent (easily under $500), I’m really happy with the sound I’m getting after the Forscan updates. I think anyone considering making changes should commit and do it. It’s just such a better experience listening to music in the Bronco now.

edit: Got to thinking, “why leave the kick panel as stock?” So i went and bought open box Focal rcx-165 6.5”. I found them about 40% under retail. Why not? 😂

I also just finished the Fusion/Kicker combo. I'm curious to know what kind of settings or music you're playing to get that "thump in your chest". Mine sounds fine, but I'm definitely missing the thump. It sounds like a "good" factory stereo to me, that's about it. Thanks brother
