Not sure what kind of fabrication abilities you have - but I’ve built my own bumpers before and welded them shut so they can act as a small air tanks.
That is a smart idea.
My welding (and grinder) skills are adequate to do that, but I don't have the time and space for fabricating that. Wish I did. Thus my search for "store bought" components.

My other issue is I am not thrilled with the winch bumpers out there. Seems to be a lot of fabricators without engineering staff. @Tricky Dick 's thread about the Rough Country High Mount is a good example. I was hoping @Grumpy would start fabricating bumpers (not talking about the Grumper - ugh, stupid ugly). I feel his bumpers would be properly designed with truely usable winch plate and tow hooks. And not droop the front end. ;)

@Jo8n - didn't mean to hijack the thread. You have sparked some creativity here. Bravo.

I'm glad to see all the ideas! Love the idea of using a bumper as a tank. I imagine it's relatively safe at reasonable pressure. Very cool.

I've got all the parts and will also install the Hammer Built Tailgate reinforcement with Antenna mount and Accessory mount. I dont have my Radio yet but I will also pull a Micromobile MXTA24 Low Profile Antenna Cable as well as a couple extra 16 gauge wires.

Parts:
ARB 12v Twin Compressor w/ remote filter option
AGS Air-Gate Kit
Hammer Built Tailgate reinforcement with Accessory arm and antenna mount
ARB-Expedition Essentials 17' Cable Extension
Micromobile MXTA24 Low Profile Antenna Cable

Looking forward to getting started next weekend and will definitely be using your pictures as a guide!

Very cool. I'm curious if there are any issues when using a reinforcement system.

I researched a bit and the reinforcement has been recommended. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Anyone know why the mounting plate has that vertical piece on the left side? What's that for? Can I cut that off? Looks weird to me.

My assumption was that it was for adding an accessory like an antenna.

It's going to be pretty well hidden back there assuming you have a spare tire.

Got it. My antenna is mounted on my side mirror. Not a big fan of things like that since debris can get caught behind it and scratch your paint.

This is the exact same list I have yet to install. Just needing a good chunk of time. Please share if you run into any challenges. I'm thinking we'll need some longer screws to go through both the Hammerbuilt and the AGS mount plus probably need some extended rubber stoppers for tire to rest against.

That’s apparently an antenna mount that was mentioned in posts #81-83. I asked the same question. I’m going to see if AGS can make me one with that cut off when I order. I don’t really like the look of it, I don’t need it for an antenna, and it’s just one more thing that can get bounced around and scratch my paint.

I don’t want that either. I’d want to cut it off if I go this route.

Has anyone used the kit with a tailgate reinforcement? Did you have any issues? Need longer bolts or any adjustments?

They had a post where it sounded like they're making a combination kit.

Also, sounded like someone was trying it out recently per this post in the current thread.
