Looks like it puked in the last pic. Funny bout new vehicles, you will always find something missing. So my launch Badlands is about to hit 18,000 miles. I picked up a K&N air filter a few weeks ago and went to finally install it tonight and open the airbox to find a baggie with two hose clamps in it.
Any guesses where these clamps were supposed to go? I’d like to think this happened during shift change at MAP
Definitely an interesting find. Glad you found it there and not loose inside the engine. I had a squirrel's nest in my F350 once after noticing big losses in power driving. There’s a fording flap in the intake mouth for any real water but not uncommon to get water inside from driving in rain or even off road splashes, especially with direct air pathing from the grille opening. It’s got drain holes specifically for this reason.
But yes I’m definitely curious where they came from, why so specific to being two in a zip loc, and when they even found their way in. I should have looked harder when I got to see it on the line I guess lol.
I’ve got the 2.3L, and I’ve also considered dropping in larger intercooler. I’ve done some research and saw that it only adds minimal benefits stock. You pretty much have to add the tune with it to see any real benefits, for the money you’re spending. I definitely think I’m gonna source out the filter and call it a day there.I did just the drop in filter. I too feel the factory system is sufficient. I’d like to do an intercooler from Mishimoto next. The 2.7 doesn’t feel really any different than the 3.0 in my Raptor. Overall both motors just run exceptionally well.
I also just ran across this video. Guy has dyno results showing 25 hp increase
….that’s interesting
