Let me know if I've got this right. I ordered in December 2021, Added Lux in July 22, converted to MY 23 in Oct 2022. No other changes to order.

2Door Badlands SAS LUX

I have the build sheet from 10/22 with a price of $57475. Subtract the Private offer that came out within a couple days column B $2450 and we're at $55025

Vehicle just showed up to the dealer where I ordered with a sticker price of $61475. Using the flow chart I subtract 2450 for column B, 2000 for Column C, 500 for Column D and 750 each for SAS and LUX in column DD. This also brings us to $55025. Makes sense that both numbers should equal the same thing.

This is what I should be paying correct?

Yup!

This is of course assuming that you dealer is applying all of Ford's provided price protection. Any deal you made with your dealer will always trump Ford's pricing as final price is ultimately between you and your dealer.

Ok sounds good. The day I ordered I was simply told "you'll pay this MSRP" referring to the initial order, and then when they had me transfer to MY23 they provided a new build sheet with the new price. They haven't started giving me a headache yet, and it sounds like they want to do right, but as of now they don't seem to know what that means. When I asked what the out the door price was gonna be they said that when they went to pull up my price protection certificate (I think they are talking about the private offer) it was missing so they filed a claim and have been waiting on a response from Ford. They verified that everything was done properly and that it should be there, but for now the only numbers he had were based on the window sticker. So far all my interactions have been positive so hopefully the number I was given when I ordered will be honored so that I can come back with a glowing recommendation for everyone. This will be the first Bronco I've ordered, the second I've bought, and at least the 10th I've had dealings on, all at different dealers, so I have plenty of first hand experience to share for all the SoCal folks.

PLEASE HELP ME UNDERSTAND:

I ordered a 4 door Badlands Sas MIC Lux Tow on 01/26/22 and put a $500 deposit down. When we re-confirmed our orders in October 2022 I added the modular bumper. Everything else stayed the same.

In January 2023 my dealer told me my order would be cancelled if I didn't remove the constrained items. I did not remove them and I received an email from Ford that my Bronco got scheduled for production. My blend date was June 06, 2023.

My Bronco will be arriving at the dealership tomorrow.

I contacted my salesman and asked about my price protection and was told that I would not receive any price protection because I cancelled my order. I explained that I did not cancel my order and in fact they still have my $500 deposit.

I phoned Ford Marketing and they gave me my certificate # but didn't tell me dollar amounts. Ford told me that my dealer was incorrect when they said my order would be cancelled if I didn't remove the constrained items and that it was a possibility but that didn't happen to my order since it got built.

Any information you can offer on what price protection I should receive is greatly appreciated.

A deposit is a very dealership-specific thing. Ford has zero requirement for a deposit when placing an order, but many dealers do require one for whatever reason. It is completely within their right to do so, and any policy around deposits is entirely up to the dealership. I will say most dealerships will refund your deposit as long as your order is canceled before the vehicle is scheduled. But again... it is very dealer-specific and obviously not all dealerships have the same policy.

Ford made no requirement to remove the constrained items... they simply incentivized removing the constrained items by offering an additional $2500 warned order holders that if the constrained items were not removed there was higher-than-zero chance that the order may not be built this year. THAT SAID, your dealership is free to make their own ordering requirements. If the dealer said you had to switch off the constrained or be canceled, they can certainly cancel your order. They are free to do so.

What likely happened is because you did not remove those items, your dealer "canceled" your order on their side of things... but actually left the order in Ford's ordering system. Who knows why... maybe they forgot to actually cancel it, maybe they left it in the system on the off chance it got built, no clue.

Unfortunately this is something entirely between you and the dealer. You are not buying the vehicle from Ford, you are buying the vehicle from your dealership. So it all depends on what agreements you had with the dealer.

Just wanted to say a big thank you @RagnarKon for creating this thread. Without it, I would not have realized I was entitled to any protections and was able to have that information prepared headed into picking up my Bronco today. My dealership was super honest and tacked it on without me asking, but it was good to have it ready and prepared if needed. Appreciate the thread and good luck to everyone still waiting.

Actually what happened was my dealership interpreted the Ford memo about removing constrained items incorrectly.

Ah so if they just misunderstood then you should be good to go. When I initially read your post you made it seem like your dealer wasn’t even going to sell you the vehicles because they had canceled it on their side.

Anyway, assuming your dealer follows Ford’s pricing (they don't have to) you should have the following:
  • 2022 -> 2023MY: $2395
  • Feb '23 Increases: $1500
  • Mar '23 Increases: $0
    • MIC: $1,200
    • Lux: $750
    • Sas: $750
  • Apr '23 Increases: $0
Total of $6,595 off window sticker price. Your private offer certificate will be $2,395. The remainder is all retail price protection.

I'm looking for some help here as I've spent countless hours going round and round with my dealer, Ford customer service, COVP.......

  • I secured a reservation for a Wildtrak on July 14, 2020
  • My dealer converted my reservation to an order on October 6, 2022 for a 2DR HE MT
  • Order was confirmed by Ford on October 7, 2022.
  • Bronco was schedule for production January 19, 2023 and since then i've received more than a dozen date changes.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Heads up!!

I have updated the flow chart and post on the first page to account for the Job 2 changes. Orders impacted by Job 2 should start to enter production on or a little after Monday, July 10th.

Special thanks to @Fordgirl2003 and @Sarah Davis for helping me track down window stickers related to the Job 2 changes, as well as a handful of forum members who sent me their window stickers. While I am not 100% positive I have the dates correct for Job 2, I have seen enough window stickers at this point that I am reasonably confident that I am correct. (If I'm proven wrong, I will update.)

---

Unfortunately, we have now reached the point where the flow chart is so large that I have reached the limits of this forum software and anything I upload is a compressed pixelated mess that is very difficult to read. If you have trouble reading the flow chart I have uploaded a full resolution version below:

Thanks for all your effort here. It's greatly appreciated.

I secured a reservation on July 14, 2020 for a Wildtrak. I did not convert this reservation to an order until October 6, 2022 (Heritage NOT limited). My dealer is telling me that because my reservation was not converted to an order earlier that I don't qualify for any price protections from Ford. This does not seem to be correct according to the info you have posted here. Does it matter when I converted my reservation to an order? Thanks for your help!

You are correct although did you always spec the soft top or did you add that later?

The $2395 is the private offer from Ford and is the money to cover increases from when you ordered initially until the '23 reorder. The $2250 is retail price protection and covers increases during the model year. If you look at your DORA from when you ordered the '23 back in Sept/Oct '22, the number there should be what you pay. Deducting the $2250 off today's sticker should get you back to the fall number. Ford reimburses the dealer for the increases that happened during the model year provided they sell the vehicle to who ordered it. If they do not give the money to you, it goes into their pocket. It's all spelled out in the first post of this thread.
