I have a similar set up and lower the top down to the ground when the Bronco is out of the garage.
Off topic, but how do you like the half rack? I’m considering one for my 4 door. How is the wind noise?
I got under and flipped the rear “u-brackets” the other way and it tightened up some of the slack. There is still some
Movement after loosening and retightening everything, but not as much. I will need to try to figure out a way to push the skid up while tightening I think.
I am thinking it’s the way it mounts. The u-bracket that goes around the axle tube doesn’t get tightened down or clamped at all. Just kind of rests there by design.
Hi all,
Anyone else install Metal Cloaks rear diff skid? I did mine over the weekend and with everything tightened down there is a lot of movement between the skid and the diff and axle loops. This makes for a loud clank over small bumps and is very annoying for DD. Curious if I installed it...
Yeah, but you have to use the same trail back out without a pass. They were checking them on the way out. We have the adventure pass for our 4th grader so it was free either way for us.
Thanks for trying to put something together from the group interest in my other thread. I unfortunately can’t during Labor Day weekend but would definitely be interested in the future.
@GroovyGeek there are far less challenging lines than what is shown in the videos. I just did it as a first timer and I had only a handful of areas that I had to really pick my lines. Would be fun to take on some more challenging obstacles next time though. I would not recommend it solo though...
