According to Ford, you can only carry aerogel on your rack.
I couldn't find any technical data from Gobi for the Badlands configuration.
How much weight do you plan to carry on the rack?

BTW - those wheels look great.

This rack is rated at 300lb dynamic & 800lb static. My new RTT is 180lb

Thanks. I love the wheels too 😊

Rack all done, lights all done (for now). So little left to do (for now) ;) It’s never done. Still got ICON tie rods and RC steering rack bushings but I will take a break for a few days. I’m beat.

Maybe today I’ll try the RTT on and take some pics

Mounted Freespirit Evolution 2 RTT yesterday. Used my pulley system and worked great. Bolts to mount tent to crossbars are super extra long and are hitting the mesh of the GOBI rack. I will cut at least an inch of each bolt today. Tent looks great. Took for a drive with roof panels off and tent on and HOLY CRAP it’s loud. Wind rushing in the front is crazy. Next is to design a wind deflector. Clears my garage door seal by 1.5”

Not sure yet what trip but still some bugs to work thru. I desperately need a wind deflector and will come up with something like this. Maybe GOBI has one I could use/modify to work

Added a LED 700 lumen light under hood for those nighttime needs to diagnose something. I have 2 lights so plan to mount other in the cargo area. In looking for clean home for the switch the ARB Compressor had a perfect fit hole in it’s housing and switch lives there now….Pretty cool actually.

Yes the light is crooked so plan to adjust…

Mounted Rock Slide Engineering EZ Rack on spare tire and traction boards. On right side is planned a 5lb propane tank. Had to drill 3 holes in boards and buy 6” bolt hardware at Lowes

Mounted fridge today. Fits perfect, slides out enough to open while table is open. Even more if table stowed. Love it

For those who might ask/wonder…the slideout would NOT fit on other side due to tailgate large bump out hitting the slide. I tried this

Is your RTT the short or the long?
I’m trying to get an idea of how much it will hang past the rack/roof width wise

Mine is the long but both are the same width and it overhangs the GOBI rack about 6” on each side. Length is still less than GOBI length.

I will start my personal build thread even before I have Bronco in my hands. It’s been a journey to get to this point, starting my obsession in 2020, selling my built 4Runner in 2021, ordering Bronco BL-SAS Feb 2022, tweaking order a few days later, then this FORD debacle forcing me to update my order and remove LUX, SAS, but hell nor high water I’m KEEPING my MIC. But I do have a plan of success and here it is:

2023 Badlands, 4dr, MIC, 2.7L, Auto, HIGH, TOW, non-SAS, EG
My use plans are Overlanding, Camping at far reaching locations, handle the harsh short winters, tow an Overlanding trailer.

Mod Plan:
Suspension/Lift - OME BP-51 lift system with all new coilovers, UCA, ICON tie rods, (built for Overlanding and gear weight)
Bumpers - Front ARB Summit, Rear JCR Crusader
Sliders - RCI Offroad 20 degree
Skids - RCI Offroad full belly plus rear diff
Winch - Superwinch 10K
Gobi Stealth Rack
Freespirit Evolution Ver2 RTT
HiLift Jack
Black Rhino Abram wheels
BFG KM3 tires (37s)
Various lights including rear chase light
Rear storage for fridge, food, gear, etc etc (hence needing heavier rear springs)
Future - Turtleback Overlanding trailer

Hoping I get Bronco this year (fingers crossed). I’ve done TONS of research, listened to all of you, watched many videos, called vendors, learned from ALL to develop my final plan (always room for change tho). Once I get Bronco I will be excited to start a journal to share here.
