So does anyone think it would be ‘possible’ to use the front toe /rear recovery hooks for scotch blocks for winching/recovery?

or are you just going to bend the frame?

Who knows? I hope not. I did the LOD reinforcement frame brackets for my RC high winch mount in the front. I have a hitch receiver mount recovery shackle insert in the rear and the supplied Ford tow loop in the rear also. Those are probably ticking time bombs. Lol.

At the very least the recovery hooks one at a time are cap le of yanking a Bronco with full locked brakes up onto the bed of a rollback. Or they wouldn't be labeled "recovery"

I’m genuinely interested if they could hold the bronco and not deform the frame

I had an F-250 giving it all she had for 6 solid hours tugging my Bronco out of quicksand.. Just absolutely brutal on the F-250. Full sprint pulls with and without a kinetic rope. 15,000+ LB dynamic loading repeatedly for 6 hours, easy. Zero issues. Every angle you can think of.

The recovery points are 100% fine.

Unless you were using a remote mounted winch, why would you attach the snatch block to one of the vehicle recovery attachments? Wouldn’t the snatch block go on the “dead man” away from the vehicle/winch?

You could always use a bridle between two recovery points with the snatch block attached to the bridle if using a remote winch.

What is a "scotch block"? do you mean snatch block?
Blocks/braces you chock your wheels with, prior to hydraulic rams on tow trucks they were used
I’ve used various objects in the past as suck on a deuce and 5 ton and m715
Just curious for those of you more familiar with this platform

you anchor them to the tow points and the truck digs instead of slides

I use metal spiked wheel chocks for winching on snow/icy pavement up here, similar concept, minus the attachment point.

Can't see how the load would be too much for a recovery point since even on a hard pull, the load on the point from the scotch would never be 100%

Thanks! No you didn’t need to anchor them to the veh to dig?

I’m trying to learn a little about the platform and also trying to rig my sand ladders if possible as scotch blocks in a pinch

I learn something new everyday on this site. I know that “traction boards” were useless for me in the sand. I’m going off to research more on these scotch blocks.
